could be a bad fuel button, the cold starting aid sprays fuel across the igniter plug sounds like you had a rich fuel mixture in the intake and the engine ran away for a minute. if the igniter had worked you should have had a fire in your intake not raw fuel. The governor in the pump only...
any one interested in saving the one in nome I can always put you in touch with the im not going to broker a deal and it isn't necessary for sale but if some one wanted to save it I would love to see it happen rather than rust away in the bushes or eventually find its way to the land fill.
On those old dodges they were the same the newer ones had a smaller wheel by a couple of inches if you want a smaller wheel look for an 88 or newer dodge truck or ram charger.
Because any self recovery would require a 2 part pull which would be a pretty short pull I don't see self recovery being very feasible. the cool part is the winch can be payed out to the rear to it could work a lot better for pulling you back out of something you shouldn't have drove in to in...
I was considering it but between suspension flex and the good year mvt's I have found no need for a traction aid. if its slick enough that the tires cant bite a traction aid isn't going to help anyway. I would still like a selectable locker like an arb, but I have no desire to mess up the way...
It was during breakup in the spring my dodge truck was straight piped with all the road spray being kicked up you couldn't see the smoke. but it essentially pumped 3 gallons of oil out the exhaust on to the road
ive had 2 holstets fail on me one just locked up and the engine lost power the other one lost a bearing and seal on the exhaust side, that one happened during low visibility and it pumped the crank case dry before I knew I had anything wrong.
I do snow and ice almost half the year I really wanted a selectable locker but after a year of driving the thing in all conditions. I don't know if it is really necessary at all some screw in loader studs in my 395's would probably get me better performance and handling.
its just wax which is good for your system anyway the only way to get rid of it is a solvent I would blow backward through the drain to get the drain to work or if the genset is on a trailer take it for a field trip, and slosh the fuel around. I have tried to remove that goo from plastic ibc...
I should add water will damage your fuel system if water ends up at the injectors than the pintles will get scored and stick because of a lack of lubricity.
Diesel doesn't turn to varnish, what you see in your tank is wax.If the fuel isn't agitated over long term storage some of the wax will settle out. This seams to be more pronounced with ulsd as the lubricity agent can also fall out and collect on the sides of the tank. What you have in your tank...
