Hello, Mark
When you say it is loose, do you mean that the mounting bolts holding it to the engine are loose? If so, have you tried to tighten them? They aren't too hard to get to.
Where is it leaking? At the input seal? Dropping the transmission is not too diffucult and doesn't need any...
Hmmm....I suspect a commercial crane outfit could sling the rascal ontl a trailer. How far do you have to move it and how busy are the roads? For something like this move you'd likely get a lot of support from the different highway departments and towns involved as far as moving down the...
Dave, the light towbar would work as would the medium one. The CUCVs use the larger adapters. A tow dolly would also work. If you tow it make sure the transfer case is in neutral and consider disconnecting the drive shaft at the rear differential and wiring it up out of the way.
Take a...
This is a great example of why the military selects and train "operators", not "drivers". I'd suggest you leave the winch alone until you learn how to use it. You're going to damage it or get someone hurt.
The vehicle operator's manual clearly states that the winch will only provide it's...
Small amounts of explosives laying on the ground surface don't make much of a hole at all. The force follows the path of least resistance up and to the sides. Most artillery shells have a heavy steel wall to withstand the acceleration and pressure on firing and have a relatively small amount...
I guess this hijacks the thread but....
I was a mortarman (Indirect Fire Crewman for the Army) I spent the first six years of my career as a Fire Direction Computer back in the days when we did all the ballistic and meteorological computations by hand or with some special slide rule...
As a "food for thought" item, I'm not sure if any fuel can that is that rough should ever be used for anything but a paperweight. Not only would a spill of 5 gallons of diesel present a fire hazard but in most states using a can that rough and having a spill would lead to some pretty hefty...
A steering stabilizer will only mask a problem that needs attention. All it is is a small bore shock absorber. It can't remove play. If the stabilizer "fixes" the problem- don't believe it. The instability problem is still there, waiting to jump on you, and Murphey is the holding it's leash...
If you have not replaced the vacuum lines do that first. They start at the vacuum pump on the top rear of the engine. Follow them to the modulator and on to the transmission. We replace them on every CUCV we come near and have only ever had to adjust one that someone adjusted prior to our...
I'm interested in an item at Bliss that would have to be oicked up, have some parts packaged and banded (or strapped) to it and be either delivered to a truck terminal or held for a truck pick up. It weighs 1,600 pounds and its about 80"Lx30"Wx65"H.
If anyone can help I can pay for your time...
Lee, I've never messed with one because mine have never given trouble but a buddy has repaired several for himself and others. He's not on this site but if you search for the info, there should be a lot. I know I've seen threads about it. If that fails, try a thread title asking to be...
