I have a question Butch. In the event that it is raining or has rained, would it be possible to line up along the paved entrance road, since it isn't in public use yet, to avoid the mud pit that will be our original staging area?
Anybody around the Columbus, Ohio area that can preview a 5 ton that may need towed off of the Defense Distribution Depot? Or is ayone available to tow a 5 ton off of the facility if I supply the towbar? I'm hoping to repair it and drive it back. Another option would be to store it at someones...
I checked mine by 1) Removing and hooking up an air supply hose. 2) Place in pan of water with a cooking thermometer on the stove. 3) At around 190 degrees, watch it actuate and switch the air. Also plumb air directly to your fan clutch to verify it works properly.
I just used a fuel safe oring out of my assortment kit. I wouldn't attempt or even know if it is possible to do on the truck. It's really not a bad job to remove the pump and do it. Give me a call if you like and I'd be happy to talk to you to give you some pointers.

You will have to remove the fuel pump and split it to get to the c-clip. It's on the inboard end of the throttle shaft. Be careful with your gaskets if you plan on reusing them and take special care with that clip; it's tiny! After I replaced the oring, my truck starts easily and runs so much...
Don't forget that you are still getting a ground through your slave connection. You have to disconnect it. I put a disconnect switch in mine in case I need to slave the truck off.
On both of my trucks I installed a heavy duty 24 volt solenoid controlled by a regular keyed ignition switch. I put it on the negative side so that I can always leave my lights on and not have to fool with turning them on every time I drive the trucks. Saves the wear and tear on the light switch...
We were glad to help and enjoyed the ride over. I know that you would have done the same for me if I had been in that situation. Situations like that are what makes this hobby fun. We need to plan on a get together at my house one Saturday in the Spring like Adam had.
So it seems obvious that I need to unbolt the FC and the shaft comes out from the inboard side? The cover on the outside appears to be riveted on. And thanks for a quick response.
Anyone ever had a NHC 250 fuel control shaft leak that they fixed? Mine has a drip that causes me to lose prime after a few days and is causing slower starts. Runs fine after start up but is more annoying than anything. Is it a simple repair like an o-ring or more complex? Is it worth a tear...
I have the same problem on my 923 when the temp is around the freezing mark. Parking brake handle down, I still have the flashing Park light and buzzer. I verified the park brakes were actually off by rolling backwards. It usually stops after about 10 minutes of driving. Every blue moon I'll...
I used mine to tow another 923 about a month ago. I had to tow it on the road and over some rough terrain. Not the first hiccup. And before anyone freaks out, my wife was sitting in truck #2 after the tow to help steer through a narrow gate. Pictures coming.
I'll be in early Saturday morning with a few items for sale.
A set of IBIS and Hunter towbar feet, $100 each set
A tan 939 cargo cover, Needs a good cleaning but solid with good rope, $200
20 gallons of diesel in case someone is running low
A jerry can holder, Excellent condition, $15
