I just did a test on Truck A, the one that I have never heard the fan operate on. I disconnected the air to the fan clutch and applied shop air with the motor running at 1700 rpm's. The fan kicked on with a definite rpm drop. And the fan noise was unmistakable as I cycled it on and off several...
After owning a Deuce for several years I really missed the glove box that it had when I got my first 923. The box behind the seat is nice but not quite as handy. So I started looking around for one that might fit in the 5 ton. I found one made for a boat with 2 cupholders on Ebay that would...
Not really. Either tire will turn whether engaged or not. Limited slip. Front tires turn opposite of each other. Only the driveshaft will stop turning when engaged properly.
Jack up the front axle with full air pressure on the truck. I had my shop air hooked to the rear with the engine off. Spin one of the tires by hand with the front engage switch " out ". The front driveshaft should turn. Now engage the front axle, " In " and the driveshaft should stop turning. If...
My recommendation is to jack up the front axle with FULL air pressure and see if the front axle is actually engaging. Alot of these trucks are plumbed incorrectly at the High/Low air switch. Mine was.
I had an issue with mine losing prime and found a leaking coupling for the fuel line. It was behind the air cleaner housing against the frame. I had to pressurize the tank and look for fuel leaking.
Here are the pictures that you wanted 05duramax. The A2 carrier measures 53.5" long. The original A0 was approximately 55". It sounds like you have one off of a tractor.
Without having an A1 carrier, I honestly don't know if there are any differences. I would guess that they are the same. No length was cut at all. Only the ear for the aft diagonal mount was trimmed. Five of 6 mount holes lined up perfectly so I bolted it in with the 5 with the 6th one being on...
After reading 05blackduramax's thread on converting to an A1, I decided to post some pictures on how I accomplished mine. I installed an A2 spare tire carrier and boom assembly with minimum modifications. The first picture shows it before I cut and rewelded the grab handle. It has to be moved...
