Comfortable ride with a CUCV. Yea I had a few. I was using my 2019 Silverado and tow barring CUCV's behind me. That was comfortable CUCV experience. CUCV's and comfort are oxymoron.
Now CUCV and hard use and reliability are true statements. Happy Holidays.
The starter only seems to grind when you have the key on
Lets hope it is not grinding with the key off. But there is no operator error. It should not grind. It's like anything else a little grind here and a little grind there and eventually you have an expensive item that requires a lot of time...
This is a grounding issue. It could be a defective headlamp switch. But the under the dash courtesy lamp on a CUCV is activated by completing the ground. You do NOT have door jamb switches as a stock item. Look for a screw into the wiring, pinched wire or other alterations to the stock wiring...
Sounds to me like 1 thin shim. But I had this issue back in the dark ages and I did find this post that was helpful. Not the same post but basically the same information. Shimming a starter (thedieselpageforums.com)
Make sure you have a good starter and the bendix is operating as designed. I...
Sometimes your nuts can be this tight. This guy either staged this or he has a lot of confidence in that 3/8" ratchet. looks like a new Harbor Freight. ICON do it. Named by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Happy Holidays.

You have received good sound advise. But yes that bottom cover does supply support when it is bolted in place. And if you are concerned with the condition of the one you have used ones are available. Good Luck and Happy Holidays. Let me know if you need any parts.

Check out this company. auveco.com
There are several clips that would work on that application. I may have a few originals but it may take me light years to locate them. I would use something like the top one I...
I know exactly what you are talking about. The early 1984 models had this style plastic clip. I convert to the 1985 and never outer headlamp trim moulding tinnerman nut style. But I have used a wedge clip in the past. the plastic ones were available from GM at one time of course they have long...
You should haver a pointed puller to get that off. I never had any issues getting them off with a puller. That looks like it has been beat on at one time. No good. I have seen guys beat the shaft. Not sure where the issue is here. Have you used the correct puller? You are going to have to put...
Check this thread out. All I will say is do NOT follow the instructions on You Tube for rebuilding a C K steering column. Pull the entire column and get it on a clean work bench. I have done it several times. Now I will remind you at first I failed but I studied hard on my own steering columns...
