On an M1008 I have encountered the sending unit ground wire broken off more than once. The best way to change the fuel tank and sending unit on an M1008 is to remove the cargo bed or at least block it up. I have removed beds many times to get to sending units. Yes, you can do it without removing...
When ever you feel like you can't do something without the biggest and best tools watch some of these videos. I have worked out in the mud and crud most of my life. When I worked at the Chevrolet dealer 3 decades ago I had everything. Well that was way to easy. I do things the hard way but get...
NO. AC Delco is a market name. Many things sold by A C Delco are produced in China. I like that the emphasize Main Land China. Not some little fish head village along the Delta. But as far as I am concerned and I have worked on many I have never changed a harmonic balancer and I have friends...
I have been building a small snow plow tractor out of scrap parts. I bought this earlier in the summer when I needed parts to fix my Honda tractor. I used the parts and decided to get this one operational. The PTO clutch was burnt out and they are expensive to fix and the previous owner did...
On generator 2 you have 2 hook ups. The bigger eye goes on the M6 stud and the smaller wire goes to the other stud. That other stud is isolated from the grounded case. I think I said that right.
That blue wire is for the M1010 rear heater fuel pump or something M1010 related. Not needed. I see that closed loop all the time. Remove that and discard it. Looks good.
I would use them all over. Like I said if you torque the bolts and they are good to go. Some blue locktite on the flex-plate to torque converters will do the trick. Good Luck. Get them done.
Put lock tight on the torque converter bolts and reuse them. I have new ones but have used thousands of them over. They are NOT torque to yield stretch bolts. I have in the past sent transmissions out for rebuilding and they were returned with SAE thread in the torque converter or vise versa. I...
You guys must live in the ghetto. And intentional concealing a VIN is a crimes code in most states. No one would go thru the trouble to try and steal your VIN number. The state and title are issued in your name legally. Happy Thanksgiving to all you Secret Agent men.

What about 1987. I have the odd ball M1028 that is a 1987. It is in a time capsule. It seems to have stopped rusting and just keeps taking a licking and keeps on ticking. This is light work in comparison to the jobs I have accomplished with it. Getting back on subject. Changing the water pump...
You can use the OEM support bracket. Just rock it back and forth against the stud and drill a hole in the center of the mark. Cut the bottom off the bracket and it works good as new. But you can also buy one that was made for it. Either way in place and tight is all that matters. Good Luck with...
I struggle with electrical issues at times. I have been successful doing a process of elimination. I have the privilege of having extra parts on hand. On a fuel gauge first thing I do is check the ground on the sending unit and clean it. Next I use a GM sending unit and plug it in and see if I...
My opinion may matter very little but I think I would check out the heads and head gaskets. I had an M1009 that I ran for 4 years with good heat in city but when I was on the highway the heat was gone. I always had a hard pressurized top radiator hose and never had any oil in the water or water...
I buy the blue or orange fusible link and heat shrink a butt connector in the line at the end. But yes if both ends are cut both ends must be replaced. Good Luck.
If you look closely you can see on the drivers side where someone cut the 10 gauge wire coming out of the resistors. I would remove the resistors and replace the wire and reattach it to the top post of the glow plug relay. The fusible link I am referring to is the poorly crimped yellow eye end...
