Many many thanks to Hundy & his son Brian for taking care of myself & Airbornebandsman. Saturday April 21st we made a quick stop to pick up some tires & wheels I bought from Hundy, when Airbornebandsman decided to see if he could swing some deals on parts he's been needing to complete his...
WOW, that is awesome! What a gorgeous truck! I first saw photos of that prototype in a book about wheeled military vehicles sometime around 1991, and that image has been stuck in my mind ever since. It's nice to see that the truck wasn't a myth, but that it actually LIVES! And a Steel...
That's a pretty cool find! If it is air operated, then it will work pretty well when it's connected to your Deuce's air supply...it will definitely help you "work smarter, not harder."
Congrats, nice score!
Good job on your hard work Chuck; nice to see older iron still able to be driven & have fun with!! Looks like you're getting the full value from your efforts, love that shot in the mud hole!
This is what brought me to SS; my very rough WW2-era G7117 is of no use to me to fully restore back to...
Ron I can assure you when I wrote that & re-read it, there's no laughing here on my end....it was intentional.
I've seen some of DHS' arsenal first-hand.
Of course this could be the first step in justifying discontinuing selling these dangerous items to mere civilians...since we can't be trusted with keeping a simple paper trail, then how on earth do we really know where these dangerous EUC items might end up?
Sounds like after some diligent...
Just tell the Special Agents that Eric Holder said you were authorized to sell the parts to the Mexican drug cartels....you are NOT a straw purchaser for the North Koreans!!
Sounds like you got everything all set up right...once you get over the initial investment it will be worth it. Best of luck on your recovery, and we expect pics!!
Biodiesel has better lubricating properties than ULSD #2; that alone is enough to make me switch...especially for my Dodge Cummins, where the IP is lubricated by the fuel. Now I don't have to buy a separate lubricant additive when running Biodiesel.
I'm stuck in Vegas until I retire in 5 years, then I hope to move to around Ely/Elko...with lots more room for the OD Fever! Nevada is soooo nice once you're out of the Vegas valley area.
The M105A2 weighs 2750 lbs empty. Even with an axle/wheel/tire swap, you're still looking at a 2,000-lb+ trailer. Pretty heavy for a Toyota.
The best advice comes from members who suggest selling it & purchasing an M101-series. If you're concerned about width available between wheelwells...
Get rid of that Toyota & get a Dodge with a Cummins diesel. I LOVE towing my M105 with mine....I can fit my quad into it just fine & even a side-by-side. Plus gear & fuel. The M105 tows great behind a Dodge 4x4 with Cummins diesel.
I hear they tow great behind Ford Super Duties as well...
