Now if you really wanted to have some engineering fun, ditch the cab latch bushings shown above and incorporate a single, centrally located air bag at the latch.
Here's a better pic of the cab air delete on the A1R trucks.
The "floating hoop" is gone as are the bags and mounts. A brace is mounted to the back of the cab and the same cab latch mechanism is used.
The cab is rigid to the frame (the suspension seat upgrade provided any "kush ride" and they...
If you think it thru, the coil over really has no bearing in the discussion of cab air (and visa versa). The cab air was deleted because it would have exploded the bags under the added weight of the armor. The coil over was simply added to accommodate the extra weight of the...
No, I track. Can't say until I look at my A0, though. I know all the holes in the frame are identical but the shock tower may be different. I'm pretty certain that it is different as the coil over is 2x the diameter. But I could be the same....will a A0 tower hold a 6" diameter shock...
Heh, there is no floating hoop. The A0 system is deleted completely. There is a brace that is hard-mounted to the back of the cab and the cab latch meets that rigid brace. Too dark out now to get a proper pic.
I suspect that it's wider but my A0 truck isn't here at the...
I was looking to mod my A1R with a cab air system that would also have some adjustment (a stock cab vs a fully radio/turret cab vs an armored cab vs a luxury RV cab all have *very* different contents and weights). I had spoken to the fellow who put together the LMTV aftermarket kits (not...
Or find a better truck...
IMO, just put an LMTV cab on <insert_truck_with_lockers_highway_gears_disc-brakes_cummins_engine_air_conditioning_etc>.

Actually, a buddy here in town who works at a sailing charter gave me a Xantrex inverter/charger 3.0 that had come out of a sailboat. It was thought bad, but replacement did not solve their issue so he said it could have been viable. Sadly, it was a paperweight...
Oh I'm not disagreeing. I just accept the fact that I'd get a lemon no matter what I purchase. LOL
Magnum are used in a LOT of ambulance boxes (I spent three years studying/researching ambo's to use as a build platform/hab).
But the prices on all the "best" brands are simply out...
I'd love to do Victron, Xantrex (again), etc. I just personally don't see the features justifying the added cost. Victron CS has some aweful reviews out there. And they ALL fail at some point, no matter the brand.
Not in my budget for this build in any event. Certainly not if I'm...
No worries.
I do chuckle when I hear someone poo-poo a brand that they had used....offroad....for a couple years...or with no notable use but never really "burned in 24 hrs to discover fault" and went to use it and it was dead, etc. They ALL can do that. And they are ALL made in...
I don't know anyone personally using a Renogy inverter but after years of tire-kicking, eye-balling, review-reading, and pondering inverters I've come to believe four things:
Like most electronics, if they are defective you will discover it within the first 24 hours of running under load...
Need to hack into it and substitute a little image of an LMTV. ;) Otherwise, I'll be interested to see how this adapts. I know they have them on cars and I know they have them on pickups but I've not seen this type 360 system on an RV (commercial truck, garbage truck, etc). It's all...
Forecast was for some dry air with lows in the 70's and highs in the 90's for a week so I loaded up Monday and spend four days, three nights surf fishing.
Got a blacktip each day and reds were running Tuesday.
Ran out of beer or I'd have stayed another night. LOL
