Try a leaf spring shop (seriously). A flat leaf isn't expensive at all. See if you can find someone locally that makes springs and spring packs. I'm pretty certain CC Spring is still in operation here, but it's Texas. Texas lives on big equipment and shops are everywhere.
1) True, but they hate me less since I got the second LMTV moved from the street in front of my house.
2) Actually, I'm constructing a hedgerow. There's a civil war coming, you know. I'm building that.
3) Only aimed for testing. The dog always gets one fan.
4) Don't make fun of...
Well the entire OEM heater console is temporary.
My old set of dash fans I had up there had failed, and the two replacements were just sitting in my living room so I wanted to mount them (it's hot down here in Texas at stop lights w/o a fan the the M1079 is my daily driver and...
I've toyed with the idea of a FL wheel (I want the cruise switches, horn, and a mic key switch and the center piece on the Cascadia would be perfect for my plans).
I'm hesitant to go with the smaller diameter after hearing some feedback, though.
There's a reason big trucks have big wheels...
Tempting offer, but it seems unfair using a community memeber as a Guinea pig. I'll just order one for me and install it next to the other one. Then I can test for accuracy without feeling guilty.
And it appears that there is a wire tag on there so that will ID those wires you're holding there.
They could also be radio set wires, chem detector, etc. The tag will tell...
You're testing this with the service (headlights) "on", correct? I don't have access to my files still, but I sort of recall that my convoy light only worked with ark or service lights active.
Honestly, this is what I'd father have....

Fine given that the CARC paintjob was shit. I mist a little Oshpho on surfaces like the leaf springs that can catch some mild surface rust. Then I hit it with a rattle can a few days later. Lasts for months between treatments.
Any nicks and scratches get a touchup of course...
OK, sounds like the convoy light.
The OEM setup goes something like this:
Relay_x > CB _y > dash switch > connector under the passenger kick panel (under the PDP) > wire harness_X > up the A-pilar and along the top of the passenger door > socket installed in upper rear cab wall >...
I thought of you today as I sat in my cab with a rattle can of Rustoleum spraying my rusty heater (why BAE did such a crappy job with paint in the late 2000's is a shame). I even used some blue masking tape in a few places. I did leave the windows open so most of my brain cells...
Stainless surf rod holder.
Came off a buddy's boat and had been sitting in his backyard for 25 years.
Made from some serious German stainless used at a local power plant (my buddy made it as a "government project").
A few mods and some welding and it bolted right up.
*does not interfere...
