    Gasser Gauge Panel

Kenny is correct, I'm thinking of the M37 or G744 I believe which will interchange. Editted, not the M37 - must be the 5 ton gasser

What trailer for a 530 fire truck

The army FM for firefighting operations does not list a trailer for use "with" the 530 series trucks. However, a number of different firefighting trailers have been built, intended to be pulled by conventional tactical trucks - one of those might be neat.

That's 'cause of the camouflage, of course!

    New Deuce

If the overall goal is restoration, then purchase to 6TL or equivalent batteries. If the objective is to have a "user" - then a pair of matched truck batteries will do. Regards, David

    Question about GL bid ????

As I recall - there is a dollar amount assigned to most large items. The maintenance expenses are tracked, and when an item is about to go over that amount, the DOD declares it beyond economic repair and it goes to DRMO. I am certain that I am leaving out some details - its simply been too...

    Gama Goat Safety

Yep, the M548 swam, so did the M113. I'll agree to disagree on the usefulness of swimming - but you're probably forgetting a few older vehicles - LVT, GPA and most notably DUKW, the later of which was successfully demonstrated in near-hurricane conditions December 1, 1942, rescuing Coast Guard...

I remember admiring your goat in KC - you should be very proud of your work, you've done outstanding work! Regards, David

    M543A2 Winner On GL

Near the rear winch is a control that looks just like a hand brake valve. It allows you to "depress" the clutch pneumatically from the rear position in order to operate the power divider. Something is leaking.

    Ether Start Kit on Ebay

The ether bottle is a consumable item - and you need to remember to replace it when it runs out. The flame heater on the other hand - if you run out of fuel for the flame heater, you have bigger issues to deal with! Regards, David

    M44A3 ?

    Its indeed the Cat-powered A3

    Mount Gama

GL doesn't handle overseas sales, that is still a DRMO function. I'm acquainted with a fellow who was tasked with destroying 200 goats in Albany. I saw one that had 39 miles on it shredded. Shame. Regards, David

    My first Aberdeen!

RE: aberdeen For those who want to try the local eateries (I spend a lot of time at APG) - at the back gate to the base is a franchised all you can eat steak house that is very good. There is a vintage diner in downtown Aberdeen that has great breakfasts (don't order scrapple). And there is...

    M35 gas engine info?

As Jason mentioned in his reply, NAPA has the soft parts (gaskets, etc.) - and usually can get hard parts too (bearings, water pump, etc) but Surplus dealers tend to be cheaper on hard parts - the government surplused tons of this stuff, whereas NAPA's stuff tends to be fresh, new - and current...

    Missing items on new truck

I've used the additive Nalcool 3000 with some success, as has the military. Regards, David

    Combat Wheel

Or, do you have a WWII-style combat wheel? These were usually found on artillery pieces. Though the prototypes of the G742, G749 (and even the G744) were built with combat wheels, the production trucks were not. (However, the ORD 9 for at least the G744 lists them as avaliable). In this...

    M543A2 Winner On GL

RE: Re: M543A2 Winner On GL While I still strongly doubt that the truck grosses 40000 lbs, unless drained there are several hundred pounds of hydraulic fluid in the crane.

    M35 gas engine info?

Again, on the road this morning with no manuals - but its the same plug as the R6602 in the five tons - and I believe, the same plug used by the M37 (there's that M-series commonality again). The model number of the engine is a Reo OA-331 Gold Comet - copies were license built be Continental...
