My daughter is a girlie girl, but she has her own M1009 and M416 trailer, and was the first female member of our club to drive a vehicle to an event. She wants my Unimog!
I blame my dad for my MV fixation. When I was quite wee, he took me down to the docks in Dublin to see a bunch of new...
One of the best parts of this hobby is the fun for the little co-drivers! :)
Many years ago, I showed up for a parade our local MVPA chapter was participating in, with my kids. Other members said "We can bring kids??". I said "Well, I intend to!". Its been a family oriented group ever...
Take a look at the manual, TM 11-5830-263-20&P. It has diagrams and lists the cables needed for various installations.
There is a -10 operators manual as well.
If you can't find the manuals online, send me a PM with you email address and I will forward the .pdf.
Cheers
I think it's plenty manly!
One of the topics that was taught in Marine boot camp (in my day anyway) was sewing, because "Your mama ain't gonna be there to fix your sh** in the field..." We were even issued OD green sewing kits. I still have mine, though its well used now.
Cheers
Is the truck in question camo and attached to an M146 trailer? If so, I have driven that particular truck about 4000 miles, including from Texas to where it is now. I know how carefully it has been maintained, I'd drive it across the country anytime.
This is a comment on the truck, not an...
Much as I like all the vehicles, I know how hard mkcoen worked on the M37, including digging out several pounds of Israel from the chassis (so thick it included an Israeli bus token!).
And I have to stick with loyalty to a friend. :)
Cheers
N Arizona, I think that what you are doing is highly commendable. I gather that the young Marine, recently returned home from service, who is taking this on as a restoration project is quite excited about it. His goal is to return it to original military standard and colours, then drive it in...
I will again repeat the best advice on here- Get off the highway, if at all possible!!
If you have a flat, who cares if you destroy the wheel, drive OFF the highway to change it. If there is an exit ramp you can physically get to, take it.
Cheers
Ha! I know your truck, watched it being built, and painted.
If anyone gives you a hard time about the "camo", remind them that most of it was painted by a girl. :)

That's pretty much where driving on ice will get you!
I'm staying warm and dry today, catching up on reading and movies with the gal, who for reasons incomprehensible, chooses to hang out with me.
Cheers
Welcome aboard!
I just sent a reply to your PM with contact information, etc. Looking forward to meeting you.
I've done a few long trips in MV's, having some basic tools, and the TM's loaded in a laptop will get you a long way, and the folks on here are the best for helping you out if you...
I have the M720 and late-style M832 mobilizers, and have access to a buddy's old style M832 and M1022s (he has two slightly different versions), so I am familiar with them, and this one isn't any of those.
It seems to have some similarities with the M832 size-wise, but is slightly smaller...
I got the green one of these from GL today, and don't know anything about it, except what can be gleaned from the pictures.
With ISO in the nomenclature, I can only assume it has something to do with moving ISO boxes. Not loaded or large containers, judging from the size.
My internet...
Bob, I actually have one of the foul weather covers, only one I have seen "in the flesh". It is headed out West though, to HellonWheelsV100. With the weather where he lives, it is more useful to him than to me.
Cheers
I've had MV owners in our club, sitting in the box of the M185 at a show, ask me "When are we going to see this M185 of yours?"
The M185 was an electrical shop, so was wired slightly differently and had different appointments inside. Once the benches in the box get stripped out, there isn't...
