Ok. How did you hook it up? Pictures are a plus
If you hooked it up by the diagram, it could not have burnt up. So take some pictures. Show us the wire diagram that came with the VR. Show us where you made the wire connections.
Looking for some help on this one. I have a MEP-007B with the Cat 3306 engine 100kw generator. Has 1000 hrs on it.
Genset background:
- Has not been running in roughly 11 years.
- Was in use when it quit, the guys I got it from had no idea what was wrong with it.
- Barn stored after it quit...
Listed here is the TM 9-6115-654-24P Parts manual for the 5 KW Generator Set, CTMGSA-5, NSN: 6115-01-303-1484. On the cover of the TM it is listed as DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT: C. The Change #2 to this TM changes the DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT to "A", Approved for public release; distribution is...
I have explained before. The IP in the CTMGSA-5 is compleatly different that the MEP-002A. The IP will function, or not. More like the MEP-802A. If it dosn't work, remove and soak in carb cleaner.
I will post the TM 9-6115-654-24P in the TM forum. On the cover its is listed as a DISTRIBUTION...
He has a place in my heart. His daughter is my God Daughter. This was in 1973. We still talk to one another at least once a month. Back then, he was what you called, a "Road Pee, and Business Partner" It was not taken, or given lightly.
If you look long enough, there are at least two P.S. Magazine articles on this subject. In the real world, we did just what Milcommoguy wrote. Also, if anyone has EM0079, There should be a TM in there that explains it ALL.
Don't think it was according to my load tester, however I changed it out because it was smaller than the back so they were miss matched and the bracket was not sitting on it correctly, I will use it on my boat though, still puzzled how the glow plug relay could shut off the power to the ignition...
How long, is long?
The pumps are a compleatly different design. And If it was me, I would get some Seafoam and add it to your fuel system. Then start it up. I worked on many of these sets and never had a problem with long term storage sets. they started right up.
At my age, gotta take your laughs where and when you can!
You guys take care and be safe. Chucky, remember the PPE. I will be dropping out of the net for a few days. Going to Garmisch for my 70th. The real reason is because the Grand Kids will be 15 klicks away, and my wife hopes to run off...
I do have the TM's, I have read them -12 & -24 (I am still at a loss as to why there is a day tank at all on this genset). ( Gen sets larger than 3 KW have a day tank. Or a fuel system that funtions like one. Its simple. If the gen set senses that the tank is almost empty, the set shuts down for...
No. Not going to vote yet. Tonight will be my last night on line for a few days. I will be back before the 31th and then will look at all the "Chumming of the Waters" posts, to make up my mind. You all be good and stay healthy.
My best friend was 6 steps away. He grabbed me, screamed, (We were in a building with seven 45 KW gen sets roaring away) at me to keep my eyes closed, and drug me 30-40 yards to our "Rest Room Facility." A one hole toilet, one sink, phone both sized building. Shoved my head under the sink...
Have you checked the wires to the fuel pumps? They could be getting 24 volts, but if the day tank solenoid will not open, they can not pump. Or if the pumps are gummed up. What you need to do is start a thread, so we can troubleshoot from A to B. Right now, we know diddly squat about what you...
