If your still haveing trouble with it staying up (no pun intended) take a hack saw blade break off a piece about 4-6" long and grind the teeth off and clean the paint off. Use this 'tool' to slip in between the pump and housing to hold the push rod up till you get the pump in place and then just...
BTW An averge number is just that ONE NUMBER, It cannot be 18-20 or "about" or "aprox." The only true way to figure MPG is from tankful to tankful even just a couple tanks can be misleading. If you 'top off' all the way vs. as soon as it clicks off auto you leave it, that could be a gallon. Do...
Stuck hub? Not a problem! With the hub "unlocked" jack up the front and turn the wheel while looking at that wheels u-joint, the u-joint should NOT turn. If it does turn slip a scewdriver in there and turn the wheel again ( it may be turning cause of old or cold grease). I've never had on sieze...
Sorry about your loss and your troubles. As a side note , how long does it take you now to R&I the tranny? I know I got real good at R&I a small block years ago.
Sure, electricity is lazy! It will allways take the easeist path to ground. Haven't you ever seen an oncomeing car with one brite headlight and the other just kinda glowing real dim? That could be a bad ground not saying it is just could be.
Start with fully charged batts. and tighten up the 2...
WOW this is an odd one. I wonder if it's something to do with the fuel return? (Gotta go with Coal cracker here) Maybe when the tanks full it somehow it blocks the fuel return line and increases the back pressure on the IP? I'm just guessing but I think it's worth a shot. I'd remove the return...
Do NOT weld the plow frame to your truck frame!! Thats why god invented grade 8 bolts! I've got an old Western set up on my M1008 and I had that same plow (mount and all) on 2 Blazers a half ton PU and a 1ton before the CUCV. Its an old TEE handle cable operorated unit with a 8' blade and...
Check all of your glow plugs with a OHM meter! Sounds like you may have some 'weak' ones. Also seeing as your in WV do they normally switch over to 'winter' (enhanced) fuel in the fall? If not and it's straight D2 you could also have had some gelling, if thats the case you DO NEED to add some...
To me it sounds like a starter drive clearance problem and the drive itself is not retracting from the last time it was started and the over running clutch on the drive is takeing all the abuse for now. You really need to check the clearence or your going to ruin the starter REAL quick!
This is about the only thing I can help you with. Pull the right hand tail light cover off and pull the 1157 bulb out and take a look at the base, sometimes the make gets alittle sloppy with the solder and the two terminals are connected. I've also seen where the wire wasn't trimmed after being...
How are you planning on mounting the top hinges? Next question , how is the glass (or plexi) going to seal to the gate?
If you take a look at the window it slides up in a channel thats inside the fiber top (IIRC)
A pick up gate mounts on the sides down low, 1009 mounts from underneth.
Thats a...
As a quick "field" on the truck test, just take a metal object like a hack saw blade and CAREFULLY touch it to the bearing on the back of the alt. If it is working you will feel a magnetic pull to the bearing, no pull=no output. This will NOT tell you if the alt is working at 100% just that is...
Well I was going to offer my .02, but you seem to know more about em than I do! Just don't forget to add an aftermarket tranny cooler. I've had 6.2/700R4 with and without them and will not go with out again. (Cheap insuance)
"My shift indicator wasn't working properly. I pulled the dash apart and found that the tab at the base of the gauge cluster was broken. I cut the remainder of the tab off and drilled a small hole. I put a roll pin in a large rivet and riveted it in. This essentially replaced the broken piece...
Thanks for the respose Sharecopper, I have no problem with custom wheels at all. I ran some 44" tires on some 16.5 wheels
that I widen myself when I worked in a metal fab shop. I admit I had a LOT of help from skilled people. I wish I still had those wheels today. OH Well, thanks again
