the military never intended them to be used as plows. it wasn't part of the job they were speced out to do. in certain reagons snow plows were added by units same for the hmmwv plowing snow was never an intended use but regional units were allowed an mwo to add a plow.
We have both covered and un covered brakes in our fleet. On my lmtv I have left mine open much easier to clean mud and dirt out and when the brakes freeze up in the overnight blizzard they thaw with a space heater faster. Just my 2 cents I live in the arctic and these are air brake lessons I...
Ive had the same problem I have trucks with covers in the fleet, it doesn't help much if any thing makes problems worse. I like leaving the covers off makes brakes easy to clean and get heat on with a space heater when its cold out.
I did pick up on a non running rig Justin who is the yard supervisor there was a lot of help he let me do diagnostics and repair there and even had one of his guys pull the caging pins once I had it started. Justin is a top notch guy and will be a valued resource to you when doing the pickup.
The electronic engines can have better performance, but it comes at an expense. the 3116 engine in my opinion is a much more affordable engine and really all I need. All the 3000 series transmissions are reliable the newer models do seam to be smoother as they shift.
Thats the problem with those universal hitches they never fit quite right and sometimes hang pretty low. The drawtite will fit under the bumper tight and hold more weight than a blazer can safely pull.
my suggestion would be to go with a direct fit drawtite hitch. You can pick up a class 3 or 4 receiver at u haul and other dealers. In another life when I was younger I did hitch installation's and the draw tites had the best fit and quality.
I remember a safety of use message coming out on super swamper use on hmmwv's pertaining to high failure rate on hmmwv's might have been related to the low tire pressures am general recommended. I tried that with bfg mud terrains on my chevy pu and had side all failures with in a year. if you...
Remember those had a crossover port in intake manifold to prevent wetted walls and operate the choke properly those ports were known to get plugged with carbon and cause all kinds of idle problems especially when the engine was cold. also I don't know what your truck has for milage the original...
your making to much work pull the axle shafts and replace the chunks if you want to re gear. once you have done the rear what are you going to do about the front I believe the awd front axle is different from the drivers.
going to a smaller tire diameter will lower your gear ratio and suck up all the gains you got from the high speed gear set there are wide duplex tires out there the ctis would have to be defeated to accommodate 22.5 wheels also the off set might not be quite right. the good year tires have the...
On a duce the out side wheel will set about a half tire width wider than the front and the inside sits a half width narrower when you flip the hubs there will still be a little offset difference because the steering axle is a little wider but I think it was only 1/4 inch or less. the reason for...
welcome from out west in nome Brad at the dowling napa store in anchorage has been helping me to find commercial replacement parts through the napa system he will be stocking tierod ends.
As explained to me by a law enforcement officer the state of Alaska recognizes 2 types of orv' s one being light rv's like quads and snowmachines the other being large equipment like tractors. The state of ak no longer issues orv tags just rv registration on snowmobiles and atv's. seems like if...
Those welders have a control box that if frequency gets to high or low they will blow the box and parts are not available anymore and that was back in the late 80's. when they run right they are an awesome welder, but I like the diesel models much better.
