Careful, depending on how old the "NOS" pump is, if the rubber parts inside are the old non LSD compatable stuff, you'll have the same issue you have now in short order.
Pump is done, but that happened after I left for the day. I was out in the south 40 and found a nice pump, 110AC and a Luberfiner filter set up we can make into a scrubber. That is another project, probably for a rainy day.
Just build it out of regular steel. Unless you will be in harms way, you or anyone else will not know the difference. I know of an M3A1 scout car that was a chopped off at the wheel wells and made into some sort of tow truck and to restore it, regular mild steel was used. You cannot tell where...
OK, I found out today that I can post on YT directly from my phone! Here is a vid when I fired the pack on the ground.

The M123 at the Museum was moved a while ago from it's spot for the RC tank club meet that is held monthly. When moving it, it died...I didn't know that. I was tasked to get it going to move it out of the lane. Did a filter service, there is alot of algae in the tanks, fuel is dark. When I...
We took a bit of time today to fire the 578, hadn't been warmed up in a couple of years, so, here it is! There are a couple of things that need to be looked at, the volt and OP gauge are non-op and we want to power up the crane end of the vehicle, but will wait until it is not the wet...
Yup, Fuel pump is leaking at the throttle shaft....most likely. Look higher on the pump, if it is wet at the plate covering the shaft and not higher, it needs a repair...the pump.
Thanks, I like to help out, it is nice to see things get fixed and driving again. Talking is easier than typing, PM me and we can connect via phone if you need help. I looked, no failure analysis book for bearings/cylinders, reuse guidelines, musta gave that one to one of the guys when I left. I...
There is some srt of sealant on the deck in your pictures, I am color blind, but it looks like it could be copper coat, a spray on copper coating, I think Permatex makes it. Whatever, it shouldn't be there.
The fire ring is on the liner, about half way between the outer edge and the raised...
Use a small wire brush to clean the deck around the liners so you don't f-up the fire ring. Clean and dry, that does not mean shiny, stained blocks are normal.
The head gaskets do not seal on the deck. They only seal at the liner, the thin bead around it, BE CAREFUL when cleaning the block so you do not remove/knick the fire ring....and at the coolant grommets...the little white rings that are stuck to the deck, and the oil passage rubbers. See those...
No need to purge the air from the fuel system, the PT pump will pick up fuel and bleed itself. It is a bit tougher to do on a truck that still uses cartridge filters.
Bell housing or flywheel housing? Bell is on the trans and the flywheel is on the engine. If it is failing the flywheel housing starting at the mount bolts and cracking outward, the flywheel hsg is not aligned to the engine. When you replaced the first one that cracked, did you dial it in using...
Rusty, I don't think its in the exh, look at the vid of the tailpipe, sounds smooth. The vid of it looking from the drivers front sounds like a popping noise going on, could just be the funky sounds videos pick up or add to things.
