    Making M101A2 street legal

CUCVFAN in MD was going to get some of the crank handles made. I am not sure if he has any left or what he was asking. Send him a PM. In order to use the trailer with a 12V system, all you have to do is make sure the bulbs are 12V!

    M931A2 New Addition!

Be careful and check your tires. The truck may be willing to go 60 mph+, but the tires may not be rated for that. I KNOW that I have had 1400s that stated on the sidewall that they were rated for 55 mph MAXIMUM. I can't recall if they were Goodyears or Michelins and they may have changed the...

    m923 soft top bows

If you are referring to the pipes that go left to right (across the cab), they are specific to the M939 series trucks because the cab is wider, as you stated, and are hard to find. If you can find extras, you can fabricate them from the M44/M39/M809 series soft top assemblies. I have had to do...

M818 vs M931A1 head to head

Did the tractor you drove have a turbo or was it naturally aspirated? If it was the former, you probably had an M52 with an LDS motor. If it was the latter, it was probably an M818/XM818. I never heard of any M809 series trucks being built prior to 1969.

M818 vs M931A1 head to head

I wonder if it could have been an original M52 gasser that was repowered with an LDS motor. I thought I read that the earliest M39 series trucks were produced in the early 50s, but I could be mistaken.

Going rate for a cargo cover

Contact GMA Cover Corporation for any color (tan, green, camo, white) cargo cover. They are not cheap, though, as they are one of the manufacturers for the military.

    How many M925A2's built in 1989 ?

I actually received a letter on AM General letterhead indicating how many M929s were produced in 1984 for exactly this purpose. Problem is...contacting AM General for BMY Harsco info is not going to do you any good. Contact me via PM if you are interested in my pursuing BMY info. I know the...

Need M105A3 moved from Houston, TX area to MD or NC

I am thinking of buying an M105A3 from another member in the Houston area. I was hoping to find out if there is anyone coming northeast who could tow/haul it to either MD or NC (John Winslow's place). I'd be willing to pay for assistance. I really can't simply get it hauled by a carrier because...

    M923a1 transmission fluid?

Agreed. When I replaced the 10W with Dexron, I had to change the transmission fluid multiple times before all of the 10W was flushed from the system.

    M923a1 transmission fluid?

I agree...Dexron. I had a truck at Allison for servicing once. They spotted 10W oil in the transmission and asked me if I wanted 10w back in or Dexron. I asked them what they recommended and they said Dexron. I was told that 10W and Dexron are basically the same, except Dexron has additives...

    m-931 brakes

Be careful that the truck does not roll backwards on you after the brakes release. Chock the wheels before doing anything. Bruce

    R.I.P--SHOOTINIRON--James Ruman

I just saw this post and read the entire thing. I am very sad about what happened. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. As others have said, at least he was doing something he loved and he had his loving wife along for this trip.

    pull a M-1102 off Redstone?

I can't help you, but there is no need for a second thread. If anything, simply post back in the original thread asking if anyone can help. Better yet, just PM WRECKERMAN in AL.

    repairing rusty bed

Don't waste your time. Just replace the entire bed. Get a dropside bed while you are at it. I know John WInslow in NC sells nice dropside beds for like $400. I bet you could get an entire bed with troopseats for that if you shop around. I have bought a dropside bed for that price so I know...
