    Lights/Charging problem on 1984 M915a1

I would jump 12v hot to the wire for the headlights. If they come on bright, the issue is with the switch wiring. IF they are still dim, I would say you have a grounding issue still. There are cannon plugs for the fender wiring on either side of the truck, under the hood between the front of the...

    1965 M109a3 Transmission Drain Plug

I can understand that about the smoke. Several members here have manuals listed in the classifieds I think. Ebay is another good source. I think some of the larger surplus dealers sell them. If I had a spare one I'd mail it to you. It is the deuce operators manual you need first, then you can...

    1965 M109a3 Transmission Drain Plug

I hate helping people who won't help themselves. You don't have to sit down with 5 TM's and read each one cover to cover. The basic operations TM has this information, and a large picture. This issue comes up at least once a month, if not once a week. It is extremely simple and of no concern...

    the XM971 "command camper" build

Are you going to put more support on the microwave? I can just see one good on and off a bridge and that baby tumbles to the floor. A lot of things we put in Angie's 109 we thought were strong enough, were not when constantly bounced around. Looking good so far! It's so WHITE! After haspin it...

    Giving up on M135.........

Here's a thought- I had the exact same problem with my XM818- and it was just the rod in the MC off the pedal. It was adjust just a little bit too tight, so when you used the brakes, they wouldn't fully release. After driving it around and stopping or slowing down some, they would be dragging...

    SC meet and greet

PB, I didn't get any between hosting, cooking, etc. I think the only pictures that got taken were SCcowgirl's, and she doesn't have internet, so it might be awhile! guess you'll just have to be here next year! :naner::tinkerbell:

    Lights/Charging problem on 1984 M915a1

I just got two 30amp relays from Napa I think, and made the switch operate the relays. It wasn't that hard at all, I just used crimp connectors as I plan to redo most of the electrical on the truck in the near future. I'll post a diagram-

    Lights/Charging problem on 1984 M915a1

It wasn't a kit, I don't know of anyone who makes one. I got two 30amp relays from Napa. One is for the headlights, and the other is for the marker, and 24v relay for the trailer lights. I just replaced the switch with a basic heavy duty two position headlight switch. No dimmer function on the...

    SC meet and greet

Well, everyone has headed for home after a pretty adventurous day. We had about 10 members and there families show up, for a total of 15 people. Not too bad for a first year. Thanks everyone that came and brought stuff to eat, drink, or help in either of those tasks. Also thanks to everyone...

    Lights/Charging problem on 1984 M915a1

The batteries ground right behind the box. The light switches in these trucks is very inadequate. I replaced mine when it melted with a heavy duty unit, working a set of relays. I also swapped to LED lights. the headlights are ground behind the bucket off a terminal board. You'd have to pull...

Thanks guys! I walked all in the back and figured out where my 100x200x20 shop will go. I only need to figure out how to pay for it... :-P

VIDEO - 5 ton desert chase scene

I think it has spring loaded boxing gloves on either side of the box, so it can pull up next to idiot drivers and punch them in the face. Cool video!

    Deuce 3 Battery Setup

yes, 3 group 31 batteries fit well with room to spare. I have two group 31 batteries for the truck and a large deep cycle for the house. still had to make spacers. those 6TL's are big batteries!

    SC meet and greet

Only 2 days left to the cookout! Please chime in if you are coming! Right now I'm planning on buying for 25 people, that should be enough, but I need to know just in case! Some teaser pics of the new place- it extends far beyond the rear line of the back yard.

    Lights/Charging problem on 1984 M915a1

That blue is very hard to read. Sounds like you are having a grounding issue. The truck lights are dim and only come on when the trailer is hooked up because they are grounding through it. Check your batteries as well, I had some issues and found it was just one with a dead cell. These...

M923A1 use as a commercial vehicle?

I passed a M35A2 with a 1000 gallon water tank and a M813 (I think) with a huge well drilling rig on it coming back from Cass WV. Both were owned and used by a well drilling company, had names on the doors, annual federal inspection stickers and IFTA stickers. I also kept a M818 up to...
