Relieved to read everyone came out reasonably OK. But I am really, seriously, (considering advising future passengers on (some sort of/any sort of) 'pre occurrence 'safety / tactical' avoidance measures, (actions)..after (sadly) reading that 'one (upsetting) post' on here.....
OK..well here's an open invitation to swing by and chill out amongst our collection and us happy chappies!. You will be quite entertained..mebb'e even a little impressed...Accommodation is not a problem if desired.
All my trucks get molly greased, And there is some added to axles, transfer cases, gearboxes, and engines. I was (am in fact) in the process of rebuilding a replacement transfer case for my M54A2 as it was clunking and knocking..Or, was it the gearbox?..or the engine?...Molly all round and now...
Correct required data hoses
Here is a side shot of the large 4 1/2 inch suction connector the hard suction hoses are required for, and or a "pond float" Filter.
The coeect data is posted here too.
I have an M45 530C fire truck. I had sought help locating the Suction Hoses for drawing pond river or static water to fill or fire.
One member Emailed and PM'd me as to the possibilty of sending me Two 4 1/2 inch NFH thread hoses and connections from a pile of miscellaneous hoses and connections...
"Since I was paying for my own tires on the 5-tons, and thus was concerned about tread life (which isn't spectacular anyway), I mounted them the way Michelin suggested.
Cheers"
Follow that advice and you are well to go. (And longer!).
Thank you for addressing that point. I am still 'Miffed' as to WHY a engineering component would not align to actual timing marks..Why the heck not Place the flipp'in marks Exactly where they are supposed to be. just my 11.7 penn'eth. Also the button was present all three and that 3 legged...
Yes, sorry to be vague..I had read the T.M. and it rabbits on without giving the exact detail of what the fuel plunger does. When the throttle lifts that brass? oblong part with the slot in it it should run up and down the 'quill' freely, and drop under it's own weight? Well That one certainly...
possibe H.H. failure The FIX
News update. We wanted to, and did attend the War and Peace show. (two whole weeks). As I did not 'trust the 5 ton camper, It was low loaded to the show. It only just got on and off both ways!. So, Back home took off the Hydraulic Head, Replace it with a new unit in...
What a fabulous old unit. What does the data plate say on the bottom right picture 3? (three fridges and other lights seems a whole load of required power). Well over 4 K.W.
OK..silence somewhat..So I took the complete top of the gearbox..and then started re fitting the engine and gearbox as one unit. NIGHTMARE!..When does 'one' realize one is just too old for all this?..Well me for one..I almost did give up..but the cadets pitched in and using the wrecker and the...
ok..what are 'chanel locks'?..I have tried 2 foot stillsons and BIG hammer and chisel..Nothing..so i just removed the whole flippin top assembly..this job is a nightmare..i will post pictures tomorrow..this is a job someone my age should NOT be doing..
Yep, that's the way I've always done it. BUT, Not on this sob!, the dome does not look 'unscrewable' and LARGE stillsons don't do it, and neither does a Large hammer and equally large chisel.
The dome does not have those protrusions at the bottom that all other removable caps seem to have...
I had a really bad knocking and clunking from the transfer case on my 5 ton M54A2. Bought another faulty unit and a new syncro assembly, But first added Molislip for the original gearbox and axles. The treatment eliminated the knocks!..I added Molislip treatment to the engine. It quietened the...
