In the process of checking out my Sun Electric LVR-3A tester I found out that I'm short one of the test leads, the fairly heavy gauge Red "C3" cable in the picture below.
Would anybody have one for sale?
TIA
Okay, so I put everything back together, started the engine and did a field flash. The engine was loaded down a bit during the quick procedure, but still no AC output, so I'll find my spare power transistor and replace it after all.
I may be jumping to conclusions here, I need to check the field flash system first, the CB2 in the diagram may have tripped. It's a bit cold this morning to work with bare hands, but will check on that later today. The regulator may be okay.
Bottom line is simple, the engine must be tuned to...
Here is the tester as shown in the TM. Should be good for the fuels listed for the MF engine.
BTW, if you want an even quieter engine run it on veggie oil/Bio diesel. Some power is lost, however.
Liftman, that's the way I choke mine also, the automatic choke is disabled.
It has started in about 5 to10 seconds until last week. Yesterday after having to use ether, it took its time to get up to speed and I lost the regulator, possibly as a result.
There are ultralight sites where they...
Well it finally happened...again...no AC output. Apparently a regulator failure. When I received the genset from Kenny, 5-6 years ago, there was no output and I replaced the power transistor in the regulator, which restored output. It has been running fine ever since, until today when I had...
Had to check may old mail to remind myself of the question regarding the fuel line markings. Not important, but was wondering about the left and right side fuel line labeling, #14 or 14L and 14R, since the tractor version didn't have two tanks from the beginning based on some photographs from...
Here is a page from the TM 5-2805-259-14.
Made the adjustment last Summer, but didn't notice mush difference in starting, still a bit fickle.
Have been running it about 20 hours total since last May and it has been starting okay, but after a couple of weeks of cold weather (15 to 32°F), it now...
That is what I thought too, but at closer examination it turns out that the bed was homemade. Here are a few images of the recovery back in '06.
The cab top and bed were removed at the site to lighten it for the flat tow home ( the deuce and 8x8 still weighed in at over 36,000 lb for the 1,000...
Bryan, don't know what gave you the impression that commercial components were used, far from it, the m656/xm757 series trucks were built from scratch to military specifications.
The all aluminum cab is designed to have the boyancy to keep the front of the vehicle above water and it's not a...
Hmm..the solenoid/relay isolates the starter from the battery. It's only closed when the starter relay is energized via the start button. A rather unusual problem in your case, statistically probably not worth trying to guard against beyond what's already in place...
I may be interested in the frame if you are scrapping it, mine is bent and although, I haven't tried terribly hard, it does not seem easy to get it back to original shape.
