    Hard Start Issue

So a fully charged 12V battery is above 12.6V. at 12.5V it would be 80-90% charged. A battery at 12.1V would be about 35-50% charged. When batteries are cold, they also lose starting capacity. At freezing temps, a battery has at best is 80% of it's original capacity available. So in other...

fuel dumping out of my air filter box

I'm not much up on the vent system, but isn't there a vent line that goes to the fuel pump? If the fuel pump were failed and leaking fuel, that would explain the situation.

    Goodyear MTR tires.....?

Tradeoffs though are a short lifespan and no mud/snow rating. Probably the best on road traction of the options though.

    Goodyear MTR tires.....?

Depends on your driving habits. The MTs will last you longer but don't have the best traction on road. The MTRs have a bit better traction but wear out faster. For road noise, on my M1123 I can't hear the tires much because everything else is too loud

Please help settle an argument over tire size

Also to add, why would you want a 160 lb tire/wheel as your spare? If nothing else he should buy a cheap rim and tire that weighs in at half of that for a spare.

Please help settle an argument over tire size

short term/low speed it shouldn't be a major issue. High speed or long distance will cause extra heat/wear in the differentials and the transfer case, which is just asking for premature failure. Even if the outer diameter is identical, different brands of tires and even different load ratings...

    Transfer switch MEP-803a

So if you're doing a hardwire install, then that one isn't ideal, but it will work. The reason I say this is it comes with an inlet box and power cable, which you shouldn't need for this job. The 9854 is the same transfer switch without those 2 items. The first website I checked is showing...

    Transfer switch MEP-803a

Okay, so from your description, it sounds like you are going to have a sub panel installed? Or there is one model of full panel with a small section that is transferred that the electrician might be talking about instead. Did he give you information as to which generac auto transfer switch he...

    Transfer switch MEP-803a

One other option out there is the GenerLink transfer switch. It installs in the meter's socket (done by the utility company) and will allow whole house transfer. The downside to this system is they have a 30 amp (7200 watts, though they claim it's good for 8500) and a 40 amp (they say max of...

    Transfer switch MEP-803a

I don't know your exact situation, so I can only give generalized advice for you. We don't know if you have a 100 amp breaker panel, 200 amp, 400 amp, etc. We don't know what types of loads you are trying to power, whether your house has all gas appliances, or everything electric. We don't...

Should it be mandatory that new owners read the -10 manual before they take delivery??????????

So how would you go about prove that they have read the -10 any more than they read the auction contract rules or any other type of CYA terms they put in fine print on every single thing these days? Nobody bothers to read anything, they just scroll down, click the little "I Agree" box, and move...

Should it be mandatory that new owners read the -10 manual before they take delivery??????????

Even the military doesn't make their drivers know anything in the manuals. I remember getting licensed on one when I got to my unit. Was basically a couple questions about whether I knew how to drive or not, then a test drive in an LMTV. They even have me my 5 ton license without anyone to...

New to me M1123, PS PB failure....

Do it a bunch of times not running, then do it a bunch of times while running. (40 times each direction and waiting like 5 seconds at full lock each way I believe) When I did mine it didn't like me no matter how many times I tried, so eventually I gave up and just filled the reservoir to...

New to me M1123, PS PB failure....

I believe that you are supposed to raise the front end off the ground to begin the bleeding procedure of turning the wheels.

RIM CHANGEOUT (Paired 24 Stud) with Run-Flats

The PVC doesn't give at all like the rubber runflat, so Trailworthyfab requires you to tell them exactly what tire/rim combination you are running in order for it to fit properly. Then you should stick with that brand/model of tire whenever you replace them in order to keep the proper fit...

Whining noise after replacing time delay module.

If it somehow failed in the open/energized position, which would be extremely rare. The fan clutch requires pressure to disengage. When power is applied to the cadillac valve, it sends fluid pressure to the fan clutch. When no power to the cadillac valve, the fan hub is bypassed and the fan...

Dodge cheap steel rims on HMMWV, are they 17 inch?

I know the H1 is hub centric, but I thought the HMMWV was lug centric? Mine at least uses tapered lug nuts.

Whining noise after replacing time delay module.

There are some people that have replaced the hydraulic clutch system with a thermal fan clutch, and I haven't heard any issues related to doing so. The military system of "fail to full operation" of the system makes sense in a military setting; and I like knowing that if something goes wrong...

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

Depends on where you are at. When I was in South Korea we had a 25mph convoy speed. When 5 or fewer vehicles we could do 35. When on our own we drove whatever speed we wanted to. I was on Ammo detail a lot. One trip to the range center (over 100 miles away) I had the S-3 (a Major) riding in...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Only in a work body or similar. There are 3 of them in my BEOD (Body, Explosive Ordnance Disposal)
