Open the Special Relay box. Jump with a wire, between TB 101-1 to TB 101-9
Then start the set normally. Will it stay running?
Do that, then put the boxes back in the set. No need to bolt them down. Start the set, normally and let S2 go. will the set still run? Dont worry about AC voltage. If...
There is a web page I read, that lists all the incidents of violence against American soldiers after the war ended. ITS LONG. The first incident, happened about 8-9 klicks from my house here. And yes, it lasted until late 40's, early 50's.
NO, NO, NO. You gen set does NOT produce power. Your A11 is bad. The reason you see power on the meter and on your multi meter is because the gen set is running on Initial Excitation. You are holding the S2 up, and that sends DC voltage to the exciter rotor. The A11 is bad. That's why the AC...
If I were you, I might sit down with the wire diagrams, and check every wire on that set. Starters do not normally burn up cause its Wednesday. You might have a wire worn through someplace, or something is miss wired. So before you through any more parts at it, take some time to look real close...
All system equipment had at least one bottle. Any truck that carried or towed system equipment had at least one. I think they were 10 pounds. About 15-16 inches tall, and 6-7 wide. Like a dive tank, just smaller. Total, I would guess about 80-100 bottles.
We had to take the bottles to the...
There were, some pumps, that needed a 3/4 and some that had a 7/8. In the 70's, we had a hard time getting parts. One of the guys in the motor pool was a Track mechanic. He told us about pumps that fit on the M48 and M60 tank, that should fit. So we tried them. Different NSN and part number, but...
To perfect your OJT, you need to be on a Missile site that runs Tac Power, 24/7 and 365 days a year. The so called learning curve look like a perpendicular line.
In the 70's, the fire extinguishers on all our equipment, a Hawk Air Defense Battery, were empty, all the time. Beer cooling. And to make matters worse, the spray cone, connecting pipe and the fitting on the end, were always gone. "Someone" would remove them to smoke hash. And the fuel tank...
An older fellow I worked with in 1993-98, was from Thüringen. An Eastern German state. At the end of the war, Thüringen was occupied by the American Army. My co worker Klaus, aged 10 at the time, told me about things like this. The people were hungry and Americans distributed food and candy...
This was still a dangerous time for Americans in Germany. There were more than a few G.I. murdered, robbed, beaten or harassed, for several years after the war. Not everyone was happy with the "Liberators".
Silicone grease. Thats what we used in the Army, and the units that were down range and used it right, had no problems with cables cracking at all. I think I still have a tube in the garage, if you want the MIL number.
No, you can not parallel them. Look at the box, read the TM's. It says right on the Synchronizing box, what it is. There is a difference between Paralleling and synchronizing. All the TM's needed are listed on the data plate, and are in the TM forum. If the TM for the AN/MJQ-35 power plant is...
This is not a MEP gen set.
I do have TM's for it.
It is a good set. But nothing on it, or better said, very little of this set, can be used on a MEP-005A.
