Do check that the generator set hold down bolts and nuts are tight. It is embarrassing to leave the set in an intersection. An un-named person I know better than my brother, did that in 1977 at an intersection in Schweinfurt Germany. No one got hurt, so its now just an old war story.

You need to get your TM's out and read. The 50 hertz switch. I hope you did not switch it back and forth while running? Bad things can happen when you do that.

We have the same kind of speed sensors on gen sets. RPM = HERTZ. As long as the engine speed stays consent, the AC voltage stays consent. Not rough at all. It is an inductive AC. By moving the speed sensor in or out, you can change the AC output.
If you look in the TM section, for the M939 TM's, there is a newer version of the maint. manual. The TM 9-2320-272-24 series has been replaced by the TM 9-2320-23 series. There might be a procedure there to rebuild. Dont know. The -23 series is five books long.
