They are not exactly DJE injectors, the DJE uses a different injection pump with the same injectors tuned to a higher pop off pressure (I think about 300 psi higher), however they are the same as the DJB injector which has the same injection pump and same pop off pressure as the MEP-002a. The...
On the topic of batteries, some DRMO/GL sites are much more picky about removal of batteries, fluids, etc. for environmental concerns than others, I just wish they would not tend to cut the radiator hoses to drain the coolant on engines. I will not say I never see batteries on listing from the...
I suspect this is a bit like condition codes on GL, it is hard to say and may mean anything from not running because of something easy to fix (clogged filter) to scrap metal. As to the MEP-803a topic, my impression is they tend to have more wrong with them than the older MEP-002a / MEP-003a's...
If done correctly the resets should bring these generators back into factory new spec condition, having said that there are a few accounts on here over the years of low hour resets being big paper weights. One account that comes to mind involves a MEP-002a or MEP-003a where the bolts fastening...
Ah, good old Fortran 77, I remember the classes very well EE131, 132, etc. instructors name was Mike McBride, his day job was being a programmer for the local power company, all work had to be done on the engineering schools Prime computer terminals, no outside connectivity, it ran PrimeOS some...
There are a number of commercial products that will do this, but none are cheap. One example is the Flight Systems model 328 which sells for $450 to $580 depending on exact model (wifi vs cell)
The right way would be to use a reverse prong inlet feeding into a transfer switch or interlock breaker so you would not have live prongs from the generator output laying around if someone trips over the cord and unplugs it, better is a twist lock inlet connector with a weatherproof cover.
jonesal, sometimes one just gets tired of tilting at windmills, and while I will usually post messages about the importance of safe transfer techniques, I doubt there is anything to be gained when replying to someone that responded that the knew the law... Afterall for every person that may be...
I have seen the conversion instructions in the past on here, and recall them being fairly straight forward on the MEP-016A to MEP016D conversion, by comparison the MEP-016B to MEP-016E conversion is FAR more complicated.
The only problem with the C-7 is that the older version which you may still find in stock in places will turn off if there is a momentary power outage and will not come back on. This apparently has been fixed in the new version, I of course have the old one.
I found a study done by the army on the solargizers a couple of years ago, and have not been able to find it again since. As I recall it was done with a number of MEP-002a and MEP-003a generators at Ft Benning, GA, with generators scattered in various locations, some getting full sun, some in...
Just to clarify a fine point here, AN and JIC will cross mate, but are not identical (there are differences in the way the threads are cut, making AN less prone to cross threading, has more lifetime connection cycles, etc), however for our purposes on these generators they are generally...
We really need to refer to these as Style 1 and Style 2, not old vs new style. I have a MEP-002a that according to the stencil markings was serviced in 2009 and has what appears to be a new Style 1 starter, (starter is new enough to have a southern automotive web address label on it) I also...
I have been running my H82 some lately and have noticed that the main switch will not turn back to the heat position once it is turned to vent for cool down. Instead it must be turned all the way off, then back to vent, then heat. Is this normal or is it a sign my switch is acting up?
