If bleeding the air completely causes them to go out, then the switch cannot be stuck. If you start the truck, don't touch the brake pedal at all, and as soon as air comes up the lights come on, you have either an internal leak in the treadle valve (the big brake valve on the firewall) or the...
I have driven scrap rated trucks off base and they needed almost nothing to be reliable drivers.
I've had to pull trucks off base rated at complete, just needing some minor things, and parts were falling off the truck on the way home...
ALWAYS inspect or have someone you can trust inspect for you!
Well, B-100, is 100% biodiesel.
B-5 is #2 diesel with 5% biodiesel, B-20 is 20% biodiesel and 80% #2, etc.
Yes, most bases and NG units are going to some amount of biofuels. They even tested a couple of jets on biofuels at Shaw not too long ago.
I know that here on Shaw AFB, we are using B100 in the tow tugs on the flightline. And their fuel tanks have a 'noleak' bladder in them. Well, the Bio is eating the bladder, and clogging up everything. I routinely went into the vehicle maintenance shop, only to see half a dozed of them in there...
SO... could one claim salvage rights? I bet I could get her out of there.. in 6 weeks when my ribs heal.
Then I could have a USN WWI MV!!!
I of course, would convert it back to steam.
I got a standard electronic flasher from a fleet pride (OTR truck parts dealer here) and it was pretty cheap. I just took the old one in and they found one with the same pin input outputs. I'll get the number off the one in my truck for you if you want it.
Love the LED tail lights, I really...
If you were at Haspin during the June rally, Angie's M109 was the gray one.
If they wear the way we are seeing for the life of the tire, I would say 50-60k miles is a conservative estimate of lifespan.
Squirt, I've heard some guys say that the rear tires will rub the pinion cap, and that the...
My wife put G177's on her M109, and dualed the rear. We haven't had any issues with rubbing on the rear duals, (of course the m109 doesn't get as crazy off road or loaded very heavy) and no issues with the front either.
We have put probably 10k miles on the tires, and they still look new...
I did the mod, mostly because one of the gp was busted off in the head when I got the truck. So I was always with 7 max GPs. I figured they would start burning out, so I bypassed the 24v part of the GP circuit to make them run on 12v.
One day I'll need to get that thing out somehow.
Yes, a couple of cheap batteries should work fine, as long as you don't have a hard starter that takes a lot to get her going.
Like I said in a previous post, if you can get blemished batteries, they are cheap and you can get good ones. Not just cheap cheap ones that won't last.
Hey Tom, welcome to the site!
There have been lots of threads on this topic. The search function isn't the best but with a little work or using google to look under this domain name, things can be found.
I let my oil sit in drums for about a month, then pull off the top 90% if the oil was...
All this M37 talk lately makes me even more eager to fix up my wife's M37.
She wants to paint it in some version of the current Air Force camo pattern for their uniforms. I don't think she can pull it off without a lot of work.
I would probably paint it Navy Gray just to make the SF (security...
"But officer, I couldn't have been at the bar eating wings last night!"
*officer checks fingernails, finds other stuff but not wing sauce* "Yep, you have to be telling the truth. Unless you were wearing gloves, and only really weird guys wear gloves to eat wings, and you look normal enough in...
