Almost forgot to mention that there are 12 and 24V booster units available. So we need to find a unit with a 2" bore master cylinder and a 24V booster.
Just talked to 'someone' who runs a high-performance brake company and has about 50yrs experience working with braking systems and components. He asked me not to use his name (again, due to liability), but was willing to take a few minutes out of his day to answer some of my questions about how...
In the meantime, let's put together a short list of all the technical information that we might need to provide in order to get some definitive answers.
1) two axles vs. three axles
2) There are two different sized wheel cylinders for the A2 & A3. What are the piston sizes (diameter) for each...
OK, here's the deal: Bosch acquired the Hydro-Max brand/line when they purchased several hydraulic divisions from Bendix a few years ago. Bendix no longer has anything to do with Hydro-Max, and Bosch is still actively developing Hydro-Max systems - but they're only working with manufacturers...
Has anyone done any more research into sourcing master/booster units from any of the six-wheeled medium duty applications? Never got anywhere with Bosch, but called again today and left another message. Got my chassis back from paint, and am ready to buy some components and get to work on the...
Anybody else notice that suddenly there are a lot of 'key words' showing up as hyperlinks in posts? Finding it to be a little bit distracting, as those links are usually posted by members about something related to the topic. Would it be possible to distinguish advertising-type hyperlinks from...
I haven't had to order too many military-specific parts, so... who should I contact about purchasing gaskets and stuff? Am in CA right now, if there's anybody on the west coast, not that it really matters much I guess.
EDIT: Just talked to someone at Memphis Equipment and they were able to get...
Finally got the chassis back. It's been sandblasted and painted, and I've installed the new transfercase (thanks again clinto!). Never got around to ordering gaskets and that stuff, so am going to order now and will install the new engine as soon as I have everything I need.
OK, thanks a bunch. I'm not too concerned about those winch guide plates, and I've taken some measurements of the angle of that gear housing, so knowing the horizontal distance from the back edge of the bumper to the gear housing is really helpful. Not sure I'm following you about the depth of...
Awesome. Thanks again. Really appreciate the help. On the left side, how much room is there between the back/bottom edge of the bumper and the front cover-plate for that drive-gear housing on the front left side of the winch?
Thanks! Those pics are great. Understand that there's really no room to move the winch any further back, and wasn't really thinking about lowering it, but what about pulling the front bumper back a little bit, so it sits closer to the winch? Was thinking about replacing the hawse-type winch...
Could really use some help here. Anybody? Would also like to get some dimensions for the rear winch mount. Need to know how much room I've got to work with, from the top of the framerails, to 1) the underside of a cargo bed, and 2) the underside of an M109 box. Please and thank you.
