Would guess that you could probably find something similar for a lot less money. A quick ssearch on pirate4x4 will probably turn up some good sources...
There are lots of options for that kind of stuff. Here's one source. Would be worth taking a look a Summit and Jegs have, but seems like the circle/dirt track vendors almost always have the best deals on universal motorsports parts like that.
On my M109, there are brackets that extend downwards from the box and keep it centered from side-to-side. Those plates keep the from contacting the frame. Maybe your truck had a box on it at one time?
Started working on the front winch mount. Used the dimensions that gringeltaube posted on steelsoldiers. Right now the winch and the front bumper are both in the stock location. But since I have to build a custom front grill to work with the A3 hood and intercooler, and am going to convert the...
For the weight, wonder if you might be able to do better than 1/8" steel? Maybe some type of ballistic composite laid over a lighter shell? Have you done the math? Am honestly just kinda curious, how much might all that 1/8" plate might end up weighing? Almost went the route you did, but decided...
Bumpsteer is actually caused by a difference in the relationship between the steering linkage and the suspension linkage. Ideally, the suspension and steering linkage would be the same length and the geometry of each would allow them to remain parallel to each other through the whole range of...
Now that I've got my chassis back, it's time to mount the pair of winches that I picked up a while ago.
Planning on installing one up front, but I don't have any of the stock winch extensions and I'm building a custom grill to work with the A3 hood and intercooler, so I'm hoping that I'll be...
I'm not in the market, but I think that sounds pretty reasonable for a comprehensive kit (assuming the quality would be on-par with everything else m-35tom does).
Thanks. Hope you're not the only one.
Glad to hear that you're happy with them. If you've purchased hubsteps on ebay or contacted me directly through email, make sure to post-up so I know who you are. If you've purchased hubsteps through SS, then I already know who you are and you will be...
My motorhome is finally getting close to being finished and I would like to give away a pair of hubsteps to say thanks for all the help I've received from members here on the steelsoldiers forum. Thanks again everyone.
Post-up to enter. Limit one entry per person. No other requirements, but...
Yeah, of course. Just had to put them back on there to tow it home. Was actually planning on fabricating some custom high-clearance u-bolt plates to replace the stock ones anyway.
Nope. It's way off-center. Had to cut down a 900-series hardtop to fit mah deuce because I couldn't find a 2.5-ton...
There's not really going to be a 'final' color combo, as it'll probably get wrapped/re-painted once in a while. But to start things off, it's going to be black (chassis & under-carriage) and white (body).
