Thank you for the thank you..Now that truck will be in our small convoy to a local event (vintage and classic car show), on Easter Sunday. Pictures to follow.
The other helper turned in today, (Brad). And started with the fitting of Twin 'wolo's atop the truck. (after moving the single centre one to the side). Should be completed Friday, ready for a local event on Easter Sunday. Then there will be a small but happy (if noisy!) convoy to the show.
"Was gonna never seize them unless they need sealer."
..Why would you 'never' seize them?..Grab them?..clarify please, Those bolts should come out OK, be they wet or dry. We used red hermetite on ours.when re inserting the bolts on wet drilled holes..
Went to the workshop to take out the vehicles to get at some work that needed completing, and the last truck in, A deuce..refused to start. Murphy strikes again!.
So, We extricated the b...y thing with the forktruck. Some time ago a similar thread had me answer (the poster) "look at the...
Huge task there, but at the right price and a lot of effort..you should come out on top. It will need a strip down (that body for sure)..Long term (fun!) project. good luck..keep posting especially with pictures of progress.
That was one heavy duty resto project. Very well done, the progress so far looks more than excellent. A truly "massive" and impressive looking vehicle.
Those masts are fitted to a whole bunch of vehicles. I'm sure they are the same as my 5 ton and the wrecker M62, The actual rotators atop them might be different or updated, but those masts sure look (all) the same. (looking closer at your picture), it does appear as if your mast is square...
Moderators WHAT the heck is this popping into my 'replies' with quote? The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.
Well, here we go..the start of the newly acquired deuce 'tarting up' project. With Benny getting non punctured wheels and tires from the donor parts truck fitted. We others swept out all the 5 years dirt dust and grime, then worked to repair and replace the hoops and troop seats. Fitted two new...
OK. If the truck still 'conks' after a short run, And the smoke is excessive as it slows down, then (I am sad to report!) It is (still) a blockage on the suction side. So, What now?. With the engine running, loose the bleed screws on each fuel filter in turn. Fuel should gush from the screw. So...
When they "draw" smoke it can (and was on mine) a blocked fuel line coming into the pump. That was years ago. But, I do remember that the fault causing hose and metal piping went across the front frame and entered a FILTER (GAUZE) in a union at the front low down (bottom) of the pump. EXACT...
Always bear in mind that there is ALWAYS another (type of?) Cheaper alternate for your collection that will do exactly what your first choice might (or might not!) have done. I have desired SO many things (vehicle wise) ..but without the cash to have them, I dropped down the scale of choices...
It would be a good idea if you posted up some pictures of your truck. And a more detailed story of what you are planning to do with it. "you came across a truck" is really vague..Does it have wheels? engine? ..post up some details.
