Good / Bad Comments About HMMWV's??

We are way out in the sticks, But occasionally people driving past often stop and stare, others ask questions, those that ask questions are invited to look around the collection. Everyone so far has been well impressed. The other Saturday after repositioning some of the vehicles to make room for...

how wide is too wide for a tire?

That is the way I would have gone. And you might consider 700x16 round profile (al'a M151)Mut tires. Nice cruise, decent RPMs..and look good.

Are C and D turbos still manufactured?

Just about any turbo of similar spec or better could be made to fit. One of our members put a (rather nice) whistling turbo on his Cummins engined wrecker, took a while and a bit modification, piping etc, and to the hood, but it sounds really nice and goes (even) better.

    Wrecker: Unseizing Boom Jacks

Sound advice. Pressure collapses as soon as there is any movement with oil, but the supply must be high pressure and low volume.

    Newbie. Generator Questions

OK..I just posted a welcome to your last post..You could have added "And" then followed with this information. That generator looks somewhat bent out of alignment to me..But yes it is a correct item. Take it off, straighten any 'offending' mountings and you should be good at that point.

Pleeeeze! rescue mee...Imediate empathy..drove into the farm..talked to a farmer...Looked...

    Air Tools

Negative. The air emits when the brakes are applied Via the Service Yellow line. Constant air emits from the emergency (supply) Red line. (with the air cock turned on)

    Grease

I have always used a molybdenum based grease. Great stuff, for the greasing tasks, and parts re-building.

Suggestions for straightening battery box latches

Post up a picture/s so we can 'fathom out' a fix for you, because, without a picture, I for one (can't visualize) and, haven't a clue what to suggest by way of a 'trick', method, or tool you might use for the 'fix'.

    In-tank fuel pump?

The length is for fuelling above any contamination..water etc. The wires INSIDE the fuel tank and running to the electric 'motor' portion at the bottom of the assembly MOST CERTAINLY ARE SHIELDED! and surrounded with a steel mesh coating.
