I do it and meet the criteria to do the dot inspections I also own an lmtv I use for service work the only draw back I see is the cost involved with getting me out of the bush and down to the lower 48.
I remember the keep alive power went to the 12 volt positive post on the 1114's never had to trace out the ignition power it would also have to be 12 volt. a simple way to do it would be a voltage converter but a 24 volt coil relay with 12 volt switched power could do the same thing just think...
my opinion is unless you are just using it for chit chat between cars or convoy opps with unlicensed operators not going ham you are missing out on a world of fun with the internet radio linking project on line you can have global communications off of nothing more than a handheld radio. met a...
I operate snow cats and have a close network of friends that also run them where I'm at we are at sea level I get great performance out of my vw powered snow trac I also have a Thiokol 2100 with a turbo diesel ford engine in it. the diesel engine options were naturally aspirated at sea level and...
the reason the older vehicles get away with those safety features not being installed is because they met all safety standard's for the year they ewer manufactured. if one was to reproduce an m37 these days you would have to meet emission standards,' and have the power plant certified for your...

did you check vin numbers that's not the 78 dash either kind of looks like some one grafted a 92 or newer cab on to a 78 frame. being a dodge owner I say congrats the little be series will treat you well and should be a nice project.
at the time they were manufactured they had heavy truck motors in them there by being exempt remember the one tons back in the day that had no catalytic converters and could still burn regular gas they were also exempt. that is all that sticker meant no egr required because it was a heavy duty...
if I were him I would request written document stating why my dmv tried that with my lmtv the clerk called anchorage and found out the restriction was only for euc's and sf 96's that showed off road use only. a lot if the small office clerks are reading that military vehicles are restricted but...
