After reading the first few lines, I started to write about heating. Its the only way to remove AND reinstall the winding's. Or the only way to do it without destroying things. I have used a propane torch to do it also. But that was 30-40 years ago, and no access to an oven.

The only thing that needs to be changed is the wires wrapped around and through the CT's and then the R3 needs to be adjusted. That procedure is in the -34. Not hard. So if you disconnect everything, that would mean the wires to the CT's anyway. A tip, there are two different Phase selector...
Someone has been in the box. If it were mine, I would take it out and take every wire off, and then hook them back up IAW the wire diagrams. If in doubt, its the only way to KNOW its right. I know its a PITA. But if in doubt..........

The A1 is what drives all your meters. Percent of load, current and such. The set will run with a bad A1, you just cant read the meters. I have in the past found them on ebay. Plug in the NSN and or part number.
Your other problem is in the A11. Static Exciter. Pull it out, take off the cover...
The crank case is supposed to have a vacuum. Go to the -24 TM and look up how to test. It even shows you how to fab up a water manometer, to test it with.
