    Winch

It should work fine within it's limitations. Don't expect it to do what a GI 10K winch will. Unlike winches certified for overhead use, commercial self recovery winches are not regulated or certified by any gov't or third party inspections. The manufacturers can make any claim they want. Not...

    Truck Markings?

I use bumper numbers from units I used to belong to that were deactivated. As a sad note on how far we drew down the strength of the military, I spent 25 years in infantry units and except for one Rifle Company, every Division, Separate Brigade, Battalion and Company I ever served in has been...

M1008 CUCV transfer to adapter gasket PN

BobM, The gasket PN was wrong. The local dealer's parts guy wasn't paying attention when I told him the truck had a NPG 208 TC. The gasket they got me was to adapt a tranny to a tranny extension or some such. I'll go to the Aamco dealer in the AM and see what he's got to offer. I'll keep you...

M1008 CUCV transfer to adapter gasket PN

Does any one have a civvy PN for the transfer case to adapter gasket? The local Chevy dealer ordered the wrong part. I was advised to check to see if the local Aamco guy's got one but he's closed until Monday. I really want go get this truck out of the shop and get another project it...

    Kathy at Toby

I've never met her but have dealt with her by phone several times. She has always been helpful and very good about returning calls and tracking down answers. Lance

    govt liqidation is a mess

Robyn I'm sorry that you are being the one hammered on all these issues. There is no other "face" to put on GL that has a chance of effecting any changes. Thank you for your response to my PM of this AM. To follow up on my issue of this morning; I, once again, sent the email disputing my...

OFFICIAL 08' RAUSCH CREEK SIGNUP THREAD!!

I',m still planning to come with my oldest son. The M35A2 will probably not make it. The hub flip and winch swaps aren't done. Looks like we'll bring the M1008 and, maybe, the M1009. We plan on traveling Thursday. Lance

    frequent log-ins needed

OK. I just threw all the cookies off the cliff. We'll see what happens. Thanks

    hiding the winch

RE: fairlead view I wonder if shielding the brake lines might be in order, what with the lead chain and hook under there.

    frequent log-ins needed

I'm guessing that this is the right place to ask this: After singing in my sign-in times out after only a few minutes. Just a few minutes ago I posted a reply and a few moments later I had to sign back in. This happens a dozen times a day (if I'm around the computer) I don't believe it to be...

    hiding the winch

If you add a fairlead, remember that it acts as a pulley so size it at least as big as the GI one to avoid damaging the wire rope.

What do you want changed about GL?

Bruce, I'd really like to complete the transaction but at this point I'd accept backing out if there are no penalties. There are more trucks for sale every week. The problem is that with a fax, an email and phone calls from me, there have been no replies at all. No resolution, no default...

What do you want changed about GL?

I've watched long enough, time to chime in... 1. Answer the phone!! I've only once gotten through to a customer service rep in less the 15 minutes. Stop lying to me every 30 seconds about how important my call is; it obviously is NOT important or GL'ed have enough staff to answer the phone...

    1008 1028 ID

Hmmm...for some reason I was thinking the A2 has a "regular" rear axle. Then again, I've never seen a dually CUCV "in the flesh" so it's all fuzzy anyway. Lance

    1008 1028 ID

I'd have to check the -20P and -34P to be sure but my fuzzy brain cell tells me the M1028A2 and A3 had an extra sway bar.

    Engine stand drawings for Deuce?

I have one similar to the one No.2Diesel pictured. I don't think it's big enough for a deuce engine but I'll look for a data plate. It has the geared rotator in the picture but lacks the second post with the jack. Mine holds the engine in over the lower arms, not out over clear floor. If it...

    Tranny or T-case cracked!

If it's the adapter, let me know. I just pulled the tranny out of an M1009 and have the adapter already out. You're welcome to it for the shipping cost. The TC side has a gasket and the tranny side has an oil seal with, sometimes, a gasket. All are current Chevy parts. If you need the Chevy...

    Deuce ownership?

RE: Re: RE: Deuce ownership? I didn't mean to imply that it needs a "fix". Sorry for the confusion. I was just going to extend an invitation to get together, if you were interested. There are 4 local deuce owners with 8 deuces and more coming. Lance

That's a heck of a job!! I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Will it be at Gilbert? Lance
