I'm thinking of fabbing up a generator compartment, under my M35A2C, where the spare and pioneer tool rack are.
I've searched for threads using "generator" with "compartment" and "box" and seem to have come up dry.
I've seen Jtonka's M109 and another M109 with the boxes. Also, there was a...
Mike, have you got any other CUCV parts looking for a home? I'm looking for a rear window crank, an M1009 lower seat cushion or cover and, maybe, a tranny.
Thanks
Lance
The only time I ever had a problem I was pointed to some trucks that were still DRMO's and told to get what I needed. This was by the DRMO guy with the local GL rep standing beside him. It worked out well.

To follow up on emmado22's post, the local DMV here in the People's Republic of New York accepts the re-assignment letter and recently accepted me assigning a deuce to a buyer without having to title it or having to register it first.
New York began issuing titles in 1973, so if the vehicle is...
Maybe someone else who's had a similar problem will chime in but I'd start with checking every ground for a tight, clean metal to metal contact.
My experience has been that the majority of lighting issues are ground related.

Those valves at the glad hands are opposite modern ball valves. On the deuce, they are "off" if the handle is parallel to the line and "on" if its perpendicular to the line.

I don't know of any insurance company that will insure a "collector" or "hot rod" vehicle that's not stored indoors.
Most of us, locally, use J. C. Taylor, out of PA. They don't ask for a picture of the storage building. Sure as heck, for $80 a year they're not coming to look.
I'm not...
Bottleworks, thanks for the reply.
Today, I picked up three similar reservoirs out of Hondas at the local bone yard. Two were from SUVs and one from a car. There were two different sizes in the yard so I took the bigger ones. Total cost for three was $17, including tax.
I'll try to figure...
Joe, one of those PTOs might be a handy thing to put on the pallet rack. Any idea what you'd want to get out of one? What model truck are they on?

RE: Re: How loud are these?
I don't remember. Most of our 5kW and 10kW sets were mounted in either M101 or M105 trailers with a deuce tank and we weren't paying for the diesel.
The TM should have fuel consumption data at various loads. They're usually pretty accurate. I'll be out in the shop...
RE: Re: How loud are these?
They're screamers.
High RPM, air cooled diesel, un-ducted fan and no sound house=hammering loud.
Noise is why they're being retired to make room for the "tactical quiet" sets. They're still very capable sets.
If it's going to see a lot of use, consider making up a...
RE: claim
Bruce, I don't think your problem is unique. I don't know what the solution to this particular event is.
Even if the property is under GL"s control, the DOD retains an interest and GL is responsible to keep it whole and safe.
Regarding the cannibalization and the missing property...
If it can wait for the Gilbert show, in Sept., I can get it that far. I'm about 25 miles from Syracuse, but there at least two guys from Syracuse going to gilbert too.
Where in Syracuse is it?
The manufacturer's website lists them as solder cups.
For the few I field repaired while in the Army, the best way I found to solder it is to strip the jacket the length of the solder cup, then strip a little piece of jacket down to the end of the conductor (this kept the strands from fanning...
RE: Re: RE: CUCV pintle hitch
The -10 manual states that the M1008 is capable of towing the M101 trailer at 3000#. It doesn't state whether that's the max the truck can tow, or if that's due to the weight of the M101 with 3/4 ton in it, or whether the limit is due to the M101 not having service...
