Building Battery / Alternator / Starter Cables for CUCV

Okay guy's love some of the ideas not all, but hey different strokes for different folks. Cheapest and best performance I have found is to use the cables out of 5 tons they are 1/0 and can be rearranged to fit most of the ways you want the military battery terminals are beefy and covers can be...

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

Finally have a great mod to show off. And now I can't find my pictures will take more tomorrow. What is changed is the muffler on a 936 is in the way of soldier B when they go to climb on the bed from the cab. All you need to do is take a little slice out of the support and bend it up straight...

What have you done WITH your wrecker this week?

I broke mine, when I went to engage the pto it started to engage then quit. I think that the linkage might have broken.

Bouncing/teeter tottering suspension bounce depending on the road

What is the overall travel of the axles? Think you can find a shock that can be used without any problems or disconnect needed.

    816 lighting upgrade

Okay so stay on top of the ticket and make sure it gets dismissed. As for your wrecker you can add lights as You would like. I personally like all LED'S but may not be in the budget. On your lollipop lights you do need to look up NY laws as to whether you need amber forward and to the rear or an...

Bouncing/teeter tottering suspension bounce depending on the road

Okay I will not debate whether leaf-packs need to be lubricated or not as I believe nobody will lube them anyway. But I do believe that cranetruck gave us the design we are looking for. I don't believe the suspension we have can properly control the axles at speeds we travel with little or no...

    Dually centers on HEMTT rims

Okay I have looked hard at doing this and staying legal and the best thing I have figured out is mount the inside wheels to the axles then a spacer or a modified wheel to the outside. This way you can simply remove the outside wheels for travel on the road and when you get to where you are going...

    Dually centers on HEMTT rims

Those look like FMTV rims not HEMTT

    816 lighting upgrade

Did he tell you you don't have to change all that stuff? The LED's off that bus probably are 12 volt and won't work anyway.

    Some Random NP205 questions

Tell you what send me that 205 and I will send you a good 208 and problems solved.

    What does this mean?

    2012 rebuild price was about 65,000 for a 931

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

Wheelspinner was not knocking you just trying to add some of my experience to it.

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

But it does decrease the available force on the caged brakes, so only cage them if needed I used to believe this also but now know otherwise, for a short tow it is okay but a long haul I would advise removal of the rear, and front on an unknown truck. Many of these trucks have been found to be...

    Recovery at Fort Dix NJ

The 50 is going to be over-kill if it was me I would use the 20 it is plenty strong and not nearly as heavy, for a little fuel economy and better power from you truck, which is what?

    6.2 intake porting question

There's no harm in applying good old gas burner performance techniques to a diesel it will help some but don't go over board with the mods and weaken anything.

    816 lighting upgrade

I personally would love to get a ticket like this. I get sick and tired of the DOT officers writing stupid tickets like this one. I would have a field day in court with this.

    Recovery at Fort Dix NJ

Okay Ultra mag what truck are you using to pull this lowboy? And how big is the lowboy?

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

If it was mine I would drop the drive shaft and don't tie the steering wheel or lock it. If it is an auto transmission definitely drop the shaft.

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

    Try again.

    M936a2 towing a M931a2

Yeah just make a set of shackle mounts for the front of the F350 and flat tow it
