Just out of curiosity, how much do you have wrapped up in the new controller between cost and installation parts? Mine works fine but has an intermitant loose connection on the circuit board which worries me with reliability. I'd like to replace just as precentative maintenance.
Also, the gen...
That wheel well has twice as much room for rubber compaired to the front fender. The M1031 box is pretty much useless to haul large items because the gen head takes up about 2.5' in length, plus the box is narrower because of the side comparments. Get a roof rack or a trailer if you need more space.
Check to make sure you don't have the steel line chaffing through somewhere. If you are trying to dial a shift characterisitc, being slightly to the harder side is better than the softer side. I doubt a TH400 in this application will break any internal parts during a slightly hard shift but any...
Batteries are not the place to be saving any money. You could buy two new Group 31's and that charger for the cost of one 6TMF. Not worth the chance because walking takes way too much time. SCSG-G4, that is a great DVOM test on battery cells. I hope I can remember that!
So you are saying I shouldn't have hugged my M1031 when I got it???
That is something I never even thought of until now that the paint may have heavy contaminants and extreme caution should be taken when doing body work. Thanks!
Try swapping injectors side to side to see if the problem follows to the other engine bank if you have the time. My rule of thumb is at this point I would drop the coin to rebuild the IP and get new injectors just for piece of mind but that could run up in the $800+ range.
Thanks for the...
Yes but that becomes poor practice when you hit the TQ hub on something as the transmission comes down. Not to mention it is an awkward one man job to pull the TQ by itself. Comes out pretty easy and fool proof inside the bellhousing, especially when the trans is already tipped back. Just keep...
I agree with verifying compression bit it doesn't make sense that the engine stumbles worse when you individually open the injector lines. This indicates each cylinder is contributing power. Very weird! If you have gone through compression tests and are positive the fuel delivery is good, I...
Idle speed set too low? Are your Gen lights coming on? This will happen if you rpms drop too low. If this is not the case, you probably have a fuel delivery/IP issue.
Wouldn't hurt to measure how deep the TQ sits in compared to the bellhousing mounting surface. Then make sure that is deeper than how far the flexplate sticks off the back of the engine. Regardless of what setup you are working on, this is always the surefire safe way to proceed.
I like how on the website they are proud to NOT be a certified Bosch dealer. No mention of being Stanadyne certified either. I wouldn't spend a dime with them, looks like another fleabay store. I like how when I went to my local authorized shop, they have all ofthe special equipment, I had a few...
What vintage 5.9L are you swapping? The older models are one wire only to run. You could run a civvy Chevy cluster and use the sending units on the Cummins. Your idea works but I would be prepared to do alot of wiring. Not the difficulty level, but I'm sure a lot will need to be shortened or...
I completely understand your point. I think a red indicator LED would be a nice addition above the switch to say when e solenoid is on is a good idea to for my setup. My goal isto be able to bypass the card in case of failure or turn the GP solenoid off if I have the key on and have no...
