This may be a stupid question, but have you bled the injectors and are you getting return fuel flow to the tank? Also are you getting any smoke while cranking?
To answer these questions, it is unlikely that you will find a unit that has not been reset at least once regardless if a tag is present, they are out there, mostly ones that spent their entire lives in storage (prepositioned resupply for a war in Europe, etc.) However the MEP-002a and...
Also don't fall into the low hour meter trap, often these hour meters would be replaced when they stopped working, not just when the units had a major rebuild / reset, instead use the visible condition, ease of starting, ability to pull a rated load, etc. as a guide.
Another issue here is what do you plan to use it for, and do you care if it is fully functional? For example the panel frequency meters are a common failure point (well actually it is usually the frequency transducers that the meters connect to), these tend to be very expensive to replace...
Why not go ahead and fix it with a proper draincock they are cheap, and that way you will not mess up the threads doing something like screwing an SAE thread pitch bolt into a NPT threaded hole.
One of our members here was 3D printing replacement knobs a while back.

I can't help with 10/4 SOOW, but for the lurkers out there if your looking for 6/4 for your MEP-003a, check out used 50 amp RV cords on ebay, these often sell dirt cheap, particularly ones with crushed or damaged ends. 50 amp RV cords can either be 6/4 SO cord, or sometimes a 4 conductor SO...
I am not sure, I have never had one with a bad capacitor myself, just read about plenty of examples. Since it happened to all 3 pumps I think it is more likely a grounding problem going back to the control box.
I have never seen that before, but just a couple of things, you did put the magnets back in the end caps? Also before giving up on these pumps be aware the inline RF filter capacitors are a common failure point, they really are not needed unless you are using the generators to power radio...
One note there is you would probably need a new output breaker since these do not work as conventional breakers and rely on the CT coils for operation.
If you were to gut a MEP-002a / MEP-003a (remove all the function from the control box and the connection box) That would leave several...
The exhaust elbow / stack looks identical to the one my my H-82, no idea where to get a spare, but thought it might help to know they look the same on the H-82 /H-83 heaters.
Rusty, I don't recall what exactly Craig did, but the MEP-002a is a brushless design and the OP here seems to have a brush style exciter so it is doubtful the same AVR would work.
Call Power-Tronics, they build a number of universal retrofit AVR's, and there is a good chance they have dealt with the same model you have in the past and know which one would work best.
Congrats on your new heaters, I have one of its predecessors an H82, but have never tried burning anything except diesel in it, do post back and let us know how it goes.
You can plug the kill-a-watt into any outlet that is powered by the generator, from there you can see the voltage and frequency, it will also show the amps and watts being drawn by anything powered through the kill-a-watt. As to it dying over night, my guess would tend to be more of a battery...
You have several questions there, so I will try to rephrase them and give some answers, hopefully I will not miss any.
1, The generator is hard to start, this is a common problem with these used military diesel generators, if everything is in good working order, then they are not particularly...
I would have to look at mine which is 30 miles away at the moment, but I think the lines in that area are a combination of metal and rubber lines, most of the fittings in the fuel system are AN fittings which is thread compatible with JIC (for practical purposes JIC and AN are interchangeable...
