M923 Upgrade to the Singel tires?
There are two issues with using the thimble nuts alone.
The first issue is they have a habit of loosening up.
The second issue is they can crack. The Flange in the thimble nut is designed to have the second rim on it and the corresponding nut.
Get a portable folding cage and the tools to break the tires down. A patch kit and a couple of extra tubes. It would fit into a space smaller than two tires and you could fix multiple flats.
Drum brakes are available in multiple diameters and widths. Jeeps have been sold with 9", 10" and 11" drums at different times. The brakes installed on a car or jeep are specified based on stopping power, pedal pressure and cost.
