    COBRA? cyclic control grip?

A bell product will always have a part number beginning with the model number of the helicopter. For example an A, B, C, E, F model are all basically Bell Model 204's. The D, H, V (extended cabin models) all start with 205: Bell model 205. The 209 was for the Cobra and 212 was for the N...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I'd say that for 99% of the folks, going from the top would be the way to go. Unfortunately I fall into the 1%, both wrists were broken in a fall and no longer move like they should. With the Battery in the way and the odd position required of the wrist, I cannot reach that plug. At 6'6" I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Tested second STE/ICE-R VDM. Op CK Good. Interesting note: If you find one of these incomplete, if I read the manual correctly, you only need the VDM and the W1 cable. all the widgets are already installed in the newer MV's, i.e. CUCV. If you have an M35 or other older MV, you need the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

replaced glow plugs, much better starting. Used AC Delco 60G plugs. Before the change: turn key, click....slow click....click....slow click, try to start, fail miserably, start all over. New plugs: turn key, power drop for a few seconds, start engine, no problem. Power drain lasts about another...

    Thumper in the morning

Very common. Don't see it so much with car radial tires but truck tires tend to get a flat spot from sitting. Once the tire warms up, the flat spot goes away and everything should be fine.

    Up to date military radio

CB is about the best for non mil use. I use a couple hand held FM's just for local stuff. Won't go into all the details about up to date mil radios except to say, if they want you to hear what they're saying, they'll tell you in person. On the display side of it though, had a thought. Get...

Largest nut size on a Deuce?

Got two sets of 3/4 inch impact sockets up to 1 1/2 inch in size, so far cover everything I need. I bought the 3 inch socket from Snap On, for 36 bucks brand new. The 24 volt impact wrenches that plug into the socket on the cab are 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. I'd say a standard tool set, any...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Very nice! As fare as the transfer case shift indicator, I went through the -20 wiring diagram and the commercial Chilton's 80 to 87 repair manual and couldn't find anything resembling a light in the transfer case shifter. Could the wires go insteas to the indicator light on the dash. Perhaps...

My Whoopee Lights and convoy signs

Not only gentlemanly, EXTREMELY well thought out. I shall endevour to perseveer. Chain goes on before the truck goes out!

    I'm just curious...

Why? Cause helicopters are too expensive and I'm not a pilot. I can own an equal sized MV (actually heavier than a Huey) that I can operate, admire, drive, sometimes fix, decorate (very important to us aviation types), admire, show off, help out the local PGR when the fallen are laid to rest...

My Whoopee Lights and convoy signs

Your truck, your chain, looks fine to me. Like the rack, wouldn't mind getting one for mine. Used to have one, but the Guard kept it. Where do you find the Thule thingys?
