If it is hard to "hot" start is a good sign it's bad or if the pump is leaking fuel. Usually cold hard starting is a slow starter, bad glow plugs or an air leak in the fuel system. Check out a GM tech sheet in the resouce section unter the tm's, it explains cold start problems for 6.2's. If...
Always wanted a 104 but could never afford one. This outfit has them.

If you find more at a good price please let me know.
Also, that is the old plastic style glow plug relay, I would replace it asap, they were prone to sticking as well. FLMV.net has NOS original replacements.
I would like to install a coolant filter in my M1031. Would like to know if anyone can confirm the direction of coolant flow so I can plumb the filter through the heater hoses. I have flushed untill no tomorrow, used flush treatments and it is still not as clean as I would like it. Thanks.
Thanks, yes it is leaving, either I will pick it up probably next week when I go to Drum or my friend Mike is bringing it back, I think around the 20th.
They are now running the glowplugs off the 12 volt block, this is using one battery to supply the voltage rather than two. Still works but puts a strain on the one battery.
Will a M116A2 Genset trailer fit inside a M105 1 1/2 ton trailer? I would like to bring both back at the same time, only have enough length for one, would like to stack the 3/4 ton in the 1 1/2. Thank you.
It does have one built in, it is not sufficient for heavy towing. No matter how many coolers you plumb in, you still have to face the fact that the 3.08 gearing of the M1009 is not tow friendly.
About 60 miles or less after you are on the road you will get a nice shower of ATF on your tailgate/window. That's too much weight for a stock M1009, they are geared too high to tow that much any distance. It's going to overheat the transmission and blow ATF out the rear output seal.
