That looks like a fun day out. We USED to get that "white stuff" fall from the sky...So..Many years ago!.
The ones used in Korea had full heaters and de misters as I recall. But it should be easy to *fabricate some ducting. Which I believe (tubing) *ran along the top of the dash close to the...
Firstly,Welcome to the site and the hobby. Do you have many collectors of military vehicles in the area? The work you wish to carry out on your truck seems quite straight forward, hopefully someone with knowledge of your particular truck will come in and advise. But I am sure a few phone calls...
That was an epic journey well completed, and that half track (my favourite with the side valve engine(better power speed and MPG!)) looks well worth your efforts. So, congratulations on a mission well fulfilled.
Heck, that's a 'lot of inquiring' and a lot of checking. It's the Wrong component, and method of installing (at the least!) Nothing is going to change that. (so) The Shop that carried out that faulty work should (simply) be given the opportunity to FULLY rectify the incorrect work and fitting...

We read of things NOT to do, and yet...
The lads were fixing the top lights on the camper, I climbed up to advise..And having heeded the "be careful" I proceeded to step from this truck to the wrecker bumper. (oh..oh) I hear you say..Well I Had the incorrect shoes on, slipped out of one and fell...
