the pto is the same on all 3000 series trucks I have seen some 2 wd trucks with the pto window on the passengers side most I have seen are on the drivers side of the transmission
my opinion you know what it is like every one has one and mine is the only one that doesn't stink. the winches are out there on riggs being scrapped they seem to command a decent price and are marginal at best for that sized truck a 2 part block is a must. on a single line pull top layer it...
I have a customer interested in the hundred k gen set for sale on the forums the shipping through normal channels is going to be a deal breaker, is there any one planning a trip cross country who would like to subsidize the trip with some freight.
the twisted metal sounds like a hmmwv alternator bracket. mine isn't here so I cant look ,and all the a-1's we had in Iraq never had an issue like that. I did have a few bracket failures on a-3's both here at home and at ntc but the brackets were something welded up at a fab shop , the cracks...
ihttp://www.alaska-logistics.com/voyages.html f you all are interested here is how logistics work up here where there are no roads. the yellow marker has my truck on board
first part of this week I was in unakleet working on some fuel trucks and reprograming a pats system in a dreaded ford. im working on finishing up some hydraulic replacement on a tellahandler and rebuilding an asv undercarriage on a cat skid steer. than its off to replace a head on a cat 966 g...
my truck is on the move now last check showed it half way between Seward and Seattle. will spend a few days loading cargo in seward than on to Nome. I stuck a pic of the service box that was mounted in Seattle. the crane didn't make it on this trip it will have to come on another boat, but this...
I agree I will miss that to, but when the mosquitos are thick I think I will like how the lmtv will seal them out to, I may have to look into an ac upgrade
the fact the front windows open are a plus while running in ice storms the guy riding shot gun can open his window and scrape yours and knock ice build up off the wiper blades for you while driving down the road. however sitting un attended in a blizzard will shure enough fill the cab with snow
you make a good point about cab movement I may have to cut out flex joints and splice in arctic grade wires before winter hits. it sounds redneck but I have done this quite successfully in automotive doorjambs up here to fix re occurring broken wires from the cold.
I agree the electrical system is far more complex than the old m44 variants but I wouldn't say they are any more unreliable just keep good batterys with clean connections and don't put the cab under water you should be fine
the only problem that one needs to head off is air in the fuel system it will cause premature failure of the fuel pump and unit injectors. this is where the special tools come in. other wise the military models seem to have a reoccurring broken air compressor supports that will break the front...
I think I would look underneath check axle shafts and differentials make shure the failure isn't one of those items first a worn slip yoke will also do that
