Nice large shop! that 's what we need here, not much get done in a foot of snow and the wind blowing... most snow on the ground for the longest period of time since we moved here twenty years ago.
If I may suggest, don't drive too much in the grass, those tracks will become permanent...
Hmm...it's "brick like" for a reason. The boxy cab and the bed are all aluminum (this 5-ton truck weighs less than my deuce/HIAB) and dimensioned to create the right amount of buoyancy for a loaded vehicle. Most cavities are filled with polyurethane foam, not so much on the 757 version, but it's...
The circuit breaker in the control box is rated 15 amps and will handle the blower motor and igniter element without a problem.
You may want to check for a short circuit, bad insulation, where the wire to the blower/motor goes thru the sheet metal (circled in the image below).
Ryan, if you plan on running biofuels in one tank and diesel in the other, you may consider the "flushing" operation. Switching supply and return at the same time (your manual valve) will eventually increase the contamination of the diesel to levels that will make it difficult to start the...
My solution was to add relays as shown in the images below (posted several times in the past too, for that matter). This gives me 100% control of the light circuits outside of the 3-lever switch and its 15 amp CB, but still letting it control the basic operation as designed.
The relays selected...
I use the aluminum tabs (link above) and an 1/8" metal stamp kit with numbers and letters...
I think the original crimped on types would also require a special tool for installation. Using a lot of "take-off" wiring, I do end up with a bunch of extra numbers of the crimped-on type, so if you...
The temperature is related to the calibration of the fuel control valve and can be seen from James' (M1075) post above, your output temp agrees with the "HI" setting.
My readings (image posted previously) were more downstream and would not be a good reference in general since I was more...
Brad, checking your to-do list, I don't see the alignment procedure, it doesn't take long and is in the -20 TM. Do the toe-in like you would on any vehicle, just twice and the other critical measurements are in the TM.
Not doing the #1 ball joint may have little effect on the outcome (like you...
Right, the joints are not designed for grease, but rely on a Delrin (Teflon like plastic) for low friction operation and a wowen packing material for sealing. The cooking procedure allows the oil at very low viscosity to penetrate and lube the surfaces. The joints are again sealed, so any...
You can only really adjust the toe-in, the other "parameters" are fixed by design, but may be effected by sagging leaf springs or loose wheel bearings.
If you spend a lot of time on paved roads, free up the rear bogie, which otherwise will tend to push the truck forward in every turn causing a...
LEDs are low current devices and a series resistor can easily get you the 12 volt drop if needed.
Some units have a built-in voltage regulator for a wide range of supply voltages (10 to 30 volts).
My experimental LED illumination shown in the image below. The LEDs are very intense and the light...
