Simplicity rules. :-) I have spotted this "Channel lock" type tool several times in your images...I like it, looks like the jaws stay parallel at all times. What brand is it? I have an antique version of non-locking parallel jaws pliers that come in handy now and then made by Sargent & Co.

    Air Compressor Question

The compressor on the 8x8 has a spring loaded pulley to automatically tension the belt, the sheave halves are held together by a spring (see image) and I'm now wondering if it also effects the "flop" discussed above. I'll try to remember to check for it next time I run the engine...

    tatra 813 new owner

How is the flow of fuel controlled? It is possible that the fan(s) run at a slower rate during the ignition phase. I have spent a considerable amount of time on the American (Stewart Warner and Benmar) heaters and would be interested in more info on the construction of yours. The fuel rate on...

    Retry- Questions about M915A1

This advise applies to any driveline brake, be it Jacobs type, hydraulic, exhaust, electric, driveline hand brake (deuce), "pinion" or the closed throttle (gas engine), you are braking via the differentials, so if, for example, one side gets traction that tire will continue to turn, while the...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Took some pictures of the parts truck this morning, guess there isn't much you can use. About the numbering of the air lines, from the looks of it, they are color coded plastic lines without numbers... This a plain m925 WW, no "A1" or A2".

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Chris, I notice some tags on the lines in this and other pictures, are the separate air systems labeled by numbers like the electrical wiring is? They did that on my 8x8 and was wondering if by chance the numbering was standardized. The TMs don't help here, at least not the ones I have.

Tire Size Comparison 16 vs 14 vs 15.5

The 395s would be 46.44 by the numbers, so they are a bit taller than the 15.5s, but then again, the real world numbers may differ.....

    WTB: Jerry can adapter

Thanks Mike. Yeah, they need to be covered one way or another, since there is a vent under the latch not easily seen.

Tire Size Comparison 16 vs 14 vs 15.5

The aspect ratio should always be taken into consideration. Like the "/80", which means that the tire is only 80% of the width in height. The 15.5/80R20 should be 44.8 inches tall going by the numbers, while the 100% aspect ratio 14R20 should be 48.0 inches tall on a 20 inch wheel. Real world...
