I will simply state that the Miller RamRod weighs approximately one metric ton and is rather difficult to unload when an SS member buys it!
Anyone have pix of a loaded SECM box when they were in service? It would be a good thread along with the M1010.
My SECM box is placarded in each compartment with what tools are suppose to be there but I have never seen a photo of a box loaded up with the equipment other than the genny/compressor/welder arrangement. Mine came with a set of lights and bead breaker...SCORE!!!
Under normal circumstances this would be true but no one these days cares about there car. Everyone wants the cheapest service and not necessarily the best...this is why places like this stay in business. Having come from a dealer service background, I never could understand people's logic. Yes...
I think the actual hitch is probably OK as long as it is not one of their universal deals with the numerous holes for varying widths. I agree...uhaul sucks. It is a chain store that hires people with no experience and barely trains them. Every uhaul hitch I've seen was junk or the wiring was...
You Texas guys must not take your heater cores seriously. Up here in Maine...live and die by it :)
For a reference, mine cost $130 to recore which was done by Sanford Radiator in Sanford, ME. If anyone searching on here needs one done, this place did very good work. Pricey but I'd rather not...
Your load test was the GP's warming up causing the Gen lights to dim. Take them out, top them off, then crank the amps to them. If that doesn't fix it they are probably sulfated from sitting and need to be replaced.
Triple check your connections for voltage drops. Get a volt meter on them and...
So should I remove the OEM one in my truck that I just had recored and throw it away???
Bring your heater core to a local radiator shop, pick it up a few days later. Bring your check book...problem solved!
Unique...as in loud, obnoxious, and unusable???
IMO, unless you are doing a turbo install or swapping to something else that makes more power stock (like a turbo diesel), spending any time or money on a 6.2 for power is a waste. Just an opinion...good luck on your endeavors. Get a good noise...
With an M1010...you can put a mechanics shop in the back!!!
I know nothing about expeditions outside of the country but I would safely assume that parts for a Nissan or Toyota truck/SUV (especially one that is sold on a global market) would have a **** of a lot more parts availability than a...
Kill the brain cells which retain information from watching television...shows like Honey Boo Boo or Jersey Shore.
This is why I don't own new vehicles. Why wheel a truck and clean it after when you can just touch it up with some spray paint :)
I think a good degreaser (like Purple Power in a very good concentration, don't cut the **** out of it) and time will be your friend. Let the degreaser do the work, maybe a little mechanical action with a medium bristle brush, then pressure wash off with warm water. Rent whatever equipment you...
I would recommend against trying to band aid problems with electric pumps and such. Regardless of your fuel delivery system, if the system is losing prime it is for a reason. Triple check all of your connections and seals, you also may have an issue with the IP losing the prime and not the...
I just recently pulled my IP. I had really good luck labeling all my lines with a marker and keeping them paired up with the retaining clips. Then I removed the lines from the injectors and pulled it out with the IP. Swapping the lines from the old to new IP, they lined right up because I kept...
Replace all the bulbs and clean the sockets really well. I had so many issues with signals that illuminate for no reason or do not flash when turning before I did this.
Yikes!
Not sure why it would be a two man job other than lifting the heads off which could be a single man job if you were built like a mule. I think if you are paying someone this kind of labor to do headgaskets you are getting hosed. Do it yourself and save the money unless you have...
Good to know about the Pollack valve...you just saved me $180...cheers!
I understand the downsides to the mechanical pump...I like the simplicity. Definitely trade offs to think about. From what I understand about your setup, both tank pumps are t'd together and only one is pumping at a time? I...
I did the Katz oil pan and block heater install last month in prepping for winter. Both work great, only used once because the ol' girl sits in a heated shop at school most of the time (retired military truck deserves a good rest).
What are you guys using for battery blankets? I saw on ebay or...
