1toncucv, do you have the settings you used for the dakota digital box, mine should be here tomorrow and it might same me some time if I copied your settings.
You do not have to, you can run numbers stenciled on the bumpers as the military did, if you are calling it a historic vehicle. If you do this then you need to carry a folder with a copy of the law to show the policeman who pulls you over that it is legal. Probably less than %10 of police know...
OD dave, I should be able to just take the fixed flat yoke off of the front of the 208 shaft and put it on the shaft of the 205 if the 208 has 32 spline. I do not have to do anything with the shaft or seal, do I?
My 205 currently has the front shaft upgraded to the 32 spline large output with 1350 yokes. I am looking for the fixed flanges for it now (if you know of a good source let me know) I am going to keep the front drive shaft from the 1008 parts truck that I have to get rebuilt for the rear. I...
I thought about getting a solinoid to kick the plate down when I hit the black out switch. so when the lights go out, the highly reflective license plate blacks out also.
In texas we have to use front plates also. When I install the front winch, I may put the hook and all behind the front...
The details on my 14 bolt axle install are:
I cut the perches off and moved them to fit the 1009. I also cut off the shock mounts and rewelded new tabs on the tops of the tubes. My upper shock mount is still outboard, some day this may change but it is not necessary (mufflers have to be moved...
I am going to go ahead and get my 205 tcase finished and installed before reworking the drive shaft. I compared the origional 1009 drive shaft with the re-worked 1008 drive shaft and they have almost the same max angle. With the lift and moving the tcase back neither slip joint style shaft...
Here are pics with it up and down. I painted the back of the plate and as much of the front as possible. I plan to get custom plates soon which will have a black back ground and white letters. When it is down, you cant tell its there from a distance because it folds down to a 90 degree angle...
sorry, i ment drive shafts. the front yoke on my 1008 had the smaller yoke. the rear was larger. you do
have to move the spring perches on the rear axle to put the 14 bolt on a 1009
becareful when replacing the wires, you will see some of the wires are crimped to smaller wires before they make the final connection. These smaller sections are the fuse.
Your wiring harness has no fuses, it uses whats called fusable links. the small section of wire is supposed to burn before...
the dakota digital part is $75 with shipping, hopefully the install is not to difficult, I will post the install of it when it arrives. I went with the TCI because it also has a tach output for a digital tach, it has real time display of speed, trans temp, gear, tc lockup status and a bunch of...
It will be for sale, It ran and drove great before removing axles, driveshafts and t-case. I have the 10 bolts that could be put on it along with the 208 tcase from the 09, and maybe the tcase from the 08 if i get my 205 built.
I also have the th400 with torque converter which was a good...
The 4l80e bolts right in with no problems, I installed it like the tm says for the th400. I put the torgue converter on the trans, bolted in the trans then bolted the torque converter to the flywheel. Of course thats the easy part.
The 4l80e core does not come with the lower cover (dust...
For those of you with new (new to you) 1009's and those who do not like the way they have their license plate mounted, here is what I did with mine.
I used a trailer licesnse plate bracket which had a ligh and a bar with two holes two fasten the plate too.
I mounted it to a piece of 1.5X1.5...
I dont think LMC has greaseable bushings. You can get some greasables at ORD. I got them when installing my lift. they keep things a little quieter and also help your suspension articulate better. I dont think there is a huge price difference.
I beleive they are 1.5 inch diameter by 2.5...
no, battery cables should all be the same size but the large cables are for starting only. The 12volts is delivered to the truck from the neg terminal of the rear battery assuming it is still a 24v truck. You should see a smaller wire that leaves the rear negative battery terminal and goes to a...
Addapter wont work without machining, you can use the 4l80e 4x4 spacer, it has the same bolt patern but the foot that mounts to the crossmember is 4.25 inches shorter than the th400 spacer. I built a bracket between trans and crossmember. I had a two wheel drive 4l80e that I converted to 4x4...
Make sure your front end is all good and replace the rag joint in the shaft. I recomend getting a bourgeson steering shaft, they are not real cheep but the are the best fix for the rag joint problem. If your box is worn out, your rag joint is definately gone. You can build a shaft cheaper...
Are you going to use the dextron 2 or regular power stearing fluid(I beleive both are ok), per the lubrication manual, I believe it calls for dextron2 in the tranny and power stearing so if you are going to flush both, I would by and extra gallon of dextron 2 and keep the fluids the same so one...
