welcome to you to from out here in Nome, there is an old NG buddy on mine bought out a tractor repair shop in the butte, he could be a wealth of good info for you
you have a hand throttle on the truck bump it up to around 1000 rpm , rather than an idle, the engine will burn better, and also make more heat for your heater. As far as the buzzer low air shouldn't come on until 60 psi so a hundred should be fine. The governed pressure should be 125 and once...
incomplete combustion will keep all diesels cold it not idled up to around 900 rpm. I live where its cold most of the year you are right about blazers an aux heater like the suburban has will help a lot. covering the radiator is a bad fix for a proper thermostat as the engine still wont warm up...

if you have the c series cummins we had a lot of problems with the push lock fittings. I would replace them all with crimped jic fittings, those trucks have a lot of lift to pull fuel out of the tank. It would not hurt to have an electronic pump at the tank to help the the cummins mechanical...
also most jeep motors use a ford input spline and bell housing, the only thing you would likely have to change is the pilot bering to bolt up a ford engine to it
I talked with my local cat guy today about the over the road 3116 engines. A word of caution he gave me was trash the fuel filter with the rubber plunger on it. He suggested a Racor 6 micron filter,or a cat filter off a c-7 with after treatment. the most problems with the 3116 engines is air...
