Got my State Farm paperwork yesterday. Here's a pic of my policy if you had questions of what the coverage actually is. Could only secure liablility on her. No problem. Funny how my coverage on the 5 ton is cheaper than on my 2.5 tons. Maybe is has something to do with their perceived value of...
Bumper Steps and Winter/Cold Weather Mask Install
Today was a wet one. Didn't get around to doing much today. Before the rainstorms hit, I was able to get the bumper steps installed. It took awhile as my old and dying portable Bosch drill motor batteries needed a charge after each hole:roll...
Better go back and read the terms and conditions you agreed to when made the first bid. Go made sure they had their backside covered over any possible issue.
You will have to re route the parking brake cable. I have the full write up in my thread:

Well, as stated my roofline blocks the sunlight. She sits in the shade most of the day. In order to get the sunlight I had to mount it 11 ft off the ground.
I don't care if it looks silly. Function over Fashion!
Pioneer Tool Rack Install
Today I was also able to get my Pioneer Tool Rack installed. I picked this one up from TNJ Murray for $50. The kit came with all the brackets and bolts for doing various trucks. I was unable to mount my rack on the toolbox because I have a dual jerry can mount on top...
Solargizer Install and VIC-1 Completed
Today I was able to complete my solargizer install and get my VIC-1 up and going. I snaked the solargizer wires up underneath the cab and on up into the battery box. Got everything hooked and saw the red status light. All is good.
Next I sat in the cab...
Did you replace the outer wheel seal?. If you did, I've found that some of the crappy Newstar seals actually put pressure on the outer wheel bearing. Thus causing it to drag and causing a hot hub. Gringeltaube has a write up on this I believe.
Highly recommend you jack the truck up, remove the...
Does anyone have pics? Planned on going this year but our unexpected but now expected pregnancy came up;-) My wife is in no mood for a road trip...don't blame her.
My newest slave cable is a NATO one prong. Boy that sucker is HEAVY. The ends on them are not that good so the seller was gracious to include two brand new ends with the set. The two prong slave cables are few and far between. I see them pop up every once in awhile.
The best thing you can do is Preview the truck before bidding. You'll get a pretty good idea the state the truck is in. Whether or not it was put out to pasture a very long time ago or someone was taking care of it. Due to the age of these trucks, pay particular attention to soft parts (tires...
Was this truck in this condition when you won it at GL? Or did this condition start up after you got it home?
Brings me to another question. Should we be putting the coolant conditioner (DCA) in our coolant? I'm now thinking we should.
As far as big problems areas, brakes brakes and more brakes are #1 on my list of what to look for. More times than not, it's just a simple bleeding. Clogged fuel filters are #2 on my list. Dead batteries are #3 on my list, just bring two batteries to swap them out. Also be aware that these...
