Use the camera you filmed with, and holding it firmly (or fix it) so that a clear LONG video of ALL the push rods and tappets can viewed at once and "TIMED" to sync that tapping sound. The problem has to be at the top end somewhere. lets work it out. ( you could place a finger on each rocker...
thinking this over Do not remove a push rod/s. to test. singly or otherwise. As back pressure, (as in a JAKE BRAKE) could hold a valve open. also pressures and vacuum might be too high.
I wish I had picked your brains when (before) I wired up my headlights and the rear spots on 530C sequentially. Interesting 2 or 3 hours! but a nightmare in figuring out. (not a diode in sight).

I am very fortunate and extremely grateful to be owning a range of trucks, that can be used in a variety of hobby interests.
But I must admit I was very (very) drawn to that particular machine, not least because of it's history. Not just the vehicle. However If it transpires I can not obtain it...
Ok that worked ( for me. ( Sound and video)). by playing the attachment straight off the post with VLC media player. but you might find it easier to post videos on utube and then provide the link in future posts . Nice video, would like to see the pull all the way in first gear.
Fact is, the older you get the harder these jobs (seem to) become. In fact As you recommend I now make sure these sort of tasks are carried out after regular checks and before making a journey "in doubt".
I forgot to mention, that a very moving surprise (for such a local event) was Low fly over by the battle of Britain memorial flight Dakota, which carried out two excellent passes. I only wish we had camped over the day previous as well, as apparently there was a huge convoy "drive out" cruise...
Apart from the "A" bar.(even then why not). Everything else will fit in and around your truck with careful stowage, And then you can travel in confidence. And peace of mind. (unless a very major incidenct occurs). Enjoy your truck.
Roger that. I now have all my trucks on air power steering. (and engine pressure pre-prime oil pumps).
Parking is easy now, and the "noise" is quite satisfying. So is the lack of noise on start up come to think of it!
As we travel in convoy usually, we load all the hand tools, socket sets. Air impact (huge) for wheel nuts. Extended air lines with palm adapter. Filters (set/fuel). Bulbs/set. In tank fuel pump. electricians set. Jump leads with universal fittings. "A" bar with adapters AND chains. Brake fluid...
As mentioned before, in neutral turn the shaft by hand and a regular good make grease gun fitting works ok every time for me no problem On either the deuces or 5 tons. actually the 5 tons are easier because you can sit up and apply a bit hold on pressure if needed.
In the U.K. you can not obtain historic military insurance cover until the age of 30. If you pass a heavy goods vehicle test (entirely possible) at 18 years of age, and or actively drive a heavy goods vehicle in the forces, You still cannot drive a Landrover or a willys jeep!! until your 30...
Pictures or video would be interesting to look at. Bet you enjoyed yourself. I pulled a sled after someone made the comment " "that wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pud'"!. Well It SO did, like you they had the weight all the way to the front, and all the trailer wheels locked..but...No...
We were invited to attend a local town American custom car show this weekend. We turned up in a gamma goat (the kid driving) A deuce m35a2. Alex driving. M715 Steve piloting. And myself in the M45 530C. Down the road to the entrance and onto site with sirens, lights bells etc going full blast...
