    Deuce starter problem

Check the ground wire from the solenoid to the starter ground terminal. If it's intermittent, the solenoid will not keep the contacts closed.

Cold Start Switch on lower left dash

Since it's difficult to tell if the flame heater is actually working, I put together a monitoring device, shown here. It turns on a light on the dash when a flame is detected. Squirting raw fuel into the intake manifold is not helping if not lit....

    number of vehicles

Ron, we may have 7,000 plus "members", but the majority (last time I checked) never posted even one time and remember, now you have to join simply to view a picture. If you could "search" the profiles only, then you should be able to get hits for each vehicle you search for. Those hits should...

Cold Start Switch on lower left dash

For me it's more of having working systems on board. I find it challenging and a learning experience to get some of those special devices to work. For example, I don't exactly anticipate ever to use the fuel burning coolant/engine heater "for real", but love to work on it and finding the...

Cold Start Switch on lower left dash

The spark plug is grounded via the spark plug cable...make sure it's okay by testing it when unscrewed so that you can visually observe it. Gap should be 1/10th of an inch.

    Deuce exhaust brake?

Yes, have had an air operated butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe for some time. It is great for long downhill drives to keep the speed down without using the "service" brakes. Head light problem

Prepare a long jumper wire, clip one end to the neg batt terminal and the other to the headlight return post. If this gives you a working light, then you know that there is a problem with the ground path. The VOM is not good at measuring low (below 1/10 Ohm) resistances and a good ground...
