Well, had a chance to do a bit more on the track. It is progressing nicely. Pulled some of the parts that were shipped to us to make sure they were still good and correct. The wheel cylinders are new Lockheed units, the hardware for the lower, major adjusters is NOS. The felts are in a wax...
Somewhere on the site, someone posted a step by step with pics. Maybe try a search. I was a bit ago, but I don't think it was before the switch to the new site.
The radiator is the lowest point, that should suffice. You will never get all the coolant out unless you pull the liners out of it. There is a 1/4 pipe plug at the exhaust side , rear of the engine. You can take that out, but it all still will not come out.
Well, it's been more than a few days! What with forklifts needing repair and vacations, a month has passed. It is in the shop and the work has started. The owner got a mess of stuff from Gary Hebding. The stuff it new, but VERY rusty and corroded/erroded. The first thing I did was to take the...
Also, the deuce is good for having the jackshaft, the short shaft between the trans and t-case, bolts come loose. It causes ugly harmonic vibrations and CAN come through the floor. Does your truck have an air shift or sprag t-case? I went thruogh all the drive train and still had a vibration...
The shut off cable goes into the pump under a cover at the LH rear side. Take the two screws out of the cover, stick you finger in there and make sure the shut off isn't stuck in the pulled out position. If you push it forward and it moves, it was stuck. See if that helps. As for the fuel line...
They are all about the same. Since there are a mess of them out there now, do some shopping and don't just snap up the first one you come across...unless it is a smokin' deal! Look at them carefully. Look at the trailer cords to make sure they aren't cut up, look at the air line (s), the late...
Check the unloader in the compressor for the not building air thing. Also, check where the battery cables exit the box and go through the frame, they rub bare there and in the engine compartment where the B+ makes the bend to the starter, they like to rub bare there too.
The battery that looses voltage is probably junk, 6 TLs are good for that!. Remove the dogbone, charge them seperatly and load test them individually. Do you have a 12 VDC accessory that you have added that could be pulling the battery down?
DAAAAAMMMMMM! That is a cool repower! It is 600HP? Didn't think there was a 600 for EGR engines! If you ever need parts, I can get them at cost for you.
The Pac Brake isn't a positive seal. There is a hole in the flapper to control the exhaust bach pressure during a braking event and the flapper doesn't seal around the edges. If there is any useable air being sucked into a runaway, the engine will use it and keep going. You are better off...
