    WMO and WVO storage

Separately for sure, you may want to make biodiesel from the WVO if it's to viscous for use. WVO must be heated when used unless diluted with diesel or kerosene. I store my WVO and biodiesel in "cubies", which you may be able to get for free from a restaurant where they use fryer oil. In any...

    HELP! HIAB question (CRANETRUCK)

Thanks Kenny, it has never let me down, except for a couple of times when an inferior (non-original) hydraulic hose coupling gave way. We discussed the damage to Ethan's crane housing and decided that it could be repaired without too much difficulty. The pitted hydraulic rams will need some...

    Still no fuel to injectors

You should also check the operation of the overflow valve, which may have an adverse effect on the IP operation if stuck open. It's found on the front of the IP below the hydraulic head.

    Still no fuel to injectors

You have to turn the crankshaft to get the slotted tooth to align with the arrow since the pump is still on the engine.

    Still no fuel to injectors

How do you determine that you have fuel to the pump, be more specific, please? I'll get you picture, let me check my files...

    HELP! HIAB question (CRANETRUCK)

RE: Getting on the Road tomorrow! Justin and his wife Amanda stopped by last evening (too dark for pictures, so don't ask) and the HIAB was demonstrated by the light from the deuce work lights. Great people! Justin is very excited about rebuilding Ethan's crane. They left for Richmond at...

Still Trying to Identify What Engine Is In My Deuce

I did, before installing the crankcase breather filter. Now the fumes go back into the air intake.... There is a PS magazine note on the slobber tube extension.

    Still no fuel to injectors

Use extreme care not to get any dirt into the plunger cavity, which may mare the lapped surfaces. There is a good reason for the multiple stages of fuel filtration. Also, the plunger rides on a cam and will be in the top position 3 times for every 1 revolution of the crankshaft, not a good...

    Fuel in oil? cause

Check the O-rings of the hydraulic head, a leak here will let fuel into the crankcase oil. An oil analysis should be in order, I have done many and it's always very informative. The FDC is not really "needed" regardless of type of fuel and would only really have a noticable effect during heavy...

    Tested fuel burning heaters today

Found wicks from this seller: item#350106053163 I was able to install one 1/8" dia wick, about 2 inches long, in the 20,000 BTU heater, but haven't tested it yet. The 30,000 BTU South Wind heater has a wick, which seem almost an integral part of the ceramic vaporizer, so I'm not sure how...

    MTD program

As you may have noticed, the mpg numbers posted on this site for the deuce in particular, varies from about 6 to 12 or so, depending how the truck is driven, my question is, how do you come up with a number and since you can compare it to a different mfg's vehicle, what kind of standardized...

Visit to Jim Henry's place in NC

Okay, but the reason I went was to get some 8x8 parts and I think I cleaned him out. Jim only had a couple of wheels, so it'll be a while. :-)

    HELP! HIAB question (CRANETRUCK)

RE: HIAB to the Rescue Justin, I wasn't aware that this is the crane in question. Here is a thread started by Ethan: http://steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=14883&highlight=hiab+ethan You'll be going by my place, perhaps you have time to stop in for a demo of a...

Have any of y'all used these LED tail lights????

Here are the left-overs from my experiment, the resistor I used was a 100 ohm/10 watt one for each LED light. This resistor will not help the flasher problem mentioned above, but if you keep the incandescents in the front, there will be enough of a load for a thermal type flasher. The...

Have any of y'all used these LED tail lights????

RE: Re: RE: Have any of y The individual replacement bulbs pictured above may need a resistor in series to drop the voltage also, they have, at least used to have, a very limited viewing angle. Very bright straight on, but not so good from an angle. The circuit board is the voltage regulator...

    Worrysome Starter Switch

Ernie, the sequence of events is as follows: 1) start button pushed. 2) starter relay energized. 3) solenoid "pull-in" coil energized, moving the pinion gear towards the flywheel. The pull-in coil is grounded via the motor windings, so it turns the motor to help mesh the gears. When the...

Have any of y'all used these LED tail lights????

Yes, LED tail lights are a plus. Also reflector strips are a good safety factor. If you can't afford the factory LEDs, make your own, cost me about $17/light and have had them on the deuce and M105 for several years...
